What a day driving the incredible Ferrari 488 Pista at the Driving School track at Paul Ricard, home of the French F1 Grand Prix. Pushing it to the limit and going flat out was super easy in such a neutral car. What a machine!! Upshifts are blisteringly fast and it's my favorite road car engine!
One of the best track weapons for sure!

@@keeturbo There's probably a difference between being strapped in a purpose built racing machine (and expecting the resulting savagery that comes with it), and being in a 'road car' that doesn't have the right to be anywhere near as fast as this on track. Also, Nico seems to be an expressive chap and appears to have that type of personality and I'm sure that's one of the reasons his videos are so popular. Thanks for the great content Nico if you're reading this, I'm super jealous of your lifestyle!

Actually some of the most fun I've had on the track is nonperformance vehicles. As long as it is consistent. Wrangling a sliding, bucking , screaming and reluctant vehicle can be a blast.

I'd love to see that also but teams do not risk current season F1 cars given penalties for power unit and gearbox replacement before the mandated service life. They *might* allow a track test after end of season, though.

Best RU-vid content there is automotive related. I’m not a fan of the typical RU-vid car channels but finally one where the presenter can really really take these cars to the limit and I can really feel the emotion of the car because I know the driver has the racing ability. It's actually 90kg lighter than standard 488 GTB. I think 40kg was saved on engine alone. Anyway I still can't believe how you are able to push the car 5 seconds after you get in it. Just F1 champions things I guess :D

The in-car, over the shoulder shots were/are by FAR the best vantage point AND it was great that you (the editor) left the shot there for a couple of laps.
