The bodies were found within a few hours. There wouldn't have been decomposition yet. The blood would have smelled awful though. And a terrifying sight to see.

I think he knew something out of the usual was happening outside his apartment. He was terrified to do anything about it, and I would have done nothing other than stay frozen too.

Who knows if Garrettson knew what was going on or not. Maybe he just isn't a very brave man. It can be difficult, even for genuinely brave people, when an event hits you unexpectedly. Like being taken by surprise. It's different when you are expecting it. The vast majority of people are not a clone of Dirty Harry or James Bond. Very few people are fearless, tough and ready to take on all comers at any given moment. Garretson was just an ordinary guy doing an ordinary job, more or less. He wasn't Rambo ready to mow down a hundred bad guys with one gun, one bayonet, a grenade and balls the size of the moon. Few of us are.

One odd thing about Garretson, on the morning of the murders, he was taken past the bodies on the lawn. He mistakenly identified folger and winifred chapman. He could not identify steven parent who had actually visited him. He had terrible nightmares. Apparently, RUdy altobelli invited him back fromm ohio to visit the house again. He said finding the house peaceful helped him

Some years later, Garretson admitted he saw Abigail Folger being stabbed on the front lawn, and heard her say "I'm already dead." Shortly thereafter, he saw the doorknob to the guesthouse turn but the door didn't open. Patricia Krenwinkel later said she went to find if anyone was there--with orders from Tex to kill whoever might be there--and decided "this madness had gone far enough" and went and told Tex there was no one there.

They are universally good-looking (actors) including the victims, the perpetrators, even the female jail officers escorting the Manson girls - everybody's hot. Manson, himself, is super-talented at both music and acting. He writes song recorded by the beach boys before exerting his impossible powers of mind-control over his cult of gorgeous young actresses and actors (one of whom was the homecoming queen of her high school) to commit unbelievably evil mass-murder of hollywood stars - including the most beautiful actress in Hollywood who was also pregnant. They do it in the home of a famous director who had just made a hit movie about a pregnant woman being stalked by a devil cult. Then they all showboat and gloat during a trail as if they're in a movie. The President, Nixon, gives a speech where he declares them guilty before the trial even though he is a lawyer who is aware that would prejudice the jury and risk the case being thrown out. Despite being 'punished' for a heinous crime, Manson goes on to become lavishly rewarded with hundreds of television interviews that make him a folk hero and a major celebrity. Tex Watson, the class-president of his high school, who murdered the victims goes on to father 4 children in prison. They are all allowed to wear all sorts of clothes and jewelry and long nails in prison. The girls look fantastic even after a decade in prison as they sport their fashionable clothing in their endless interviews for television. None of this celebrity treatment seems to bother the victim's loved ones even though they must be aware that Manson is being allowed to gloat and show-off in world famous television appearances for decades.

@@michelleharak7849 One very weird thing: Sharon Tate supposedly had two sisters. And one of these sisters looks almost exactly like Sharon. (Patti) Patti Tate freaks many people out because she does look A LOT like Sharon and even talks like Sharon did. Some suggest it may actually be Sharon. In my opinion Patti could be Sharon but only if we allow for a jaw-thinning cosmetic surgery. That's the one difference I can see between the two sisters. Patti's jaw is more slender than Sharon's. Anyway, Patti supposedly died of breast cancer in 2000...so if she was Sharon that was the second time she faked her death. But as to where the dead people are being hidden...it's probably not that hard to conceal them from the public. Kobe is not dead. Many celebrity tragedies are fake. The Media would not expose any of them since the media helps to promote these deceptions. So even if you saw Sharon or Kobe at the super market, who ya gonna call? Nobody's helping you to prove they are still alive.

Tell me. How would you have improved the "job on the case"? What exactly would you have done to find the culprit/culprits? There wasn't DNA testing back in 1969. The 2 people who were on the property hadn't a clue to what took place. Most murders are solved when one involved with the murder speaking to an individual regarding what happened.

They all knew each other...Sebring and Forykoski we're well known drug dealers and Tex Watson had lived in the guest house in 1968.....there is far more to this murder than the false narrative pushed by the media ......this was a drug deal gone bad ....everyone knew each other...there was nothing random about this crime....Sharon Tate was not supposed to be there that night and I feel bad for her and partly for Folger but she was subsidzing Forykoskis drug dealing.......the Helter Skelter motive and book was complete and total BS

I'm guessing it's Henry Lee. At the outset of this press conference he identifies himself as the coroner for the chief medical examiner's office. If so, he's the same coroner who, years later, was very involved in the OJ Simpson case. He also loaned his expertise on the "Staircase" trial. Renowned expert on analyzing murder scenes, including blood spatter, he's not just any guy. To this day he has a hard time pronouncing English words, but is the go to guy for his expertise

Tex probably would not want to risk having someone drive down the path to the main road and see Johnny Swartz’ white 1959 Ford on their way out. The car belonged to a ranch-hand who wasn’t aware of what they did with it when borrowed (usually just garbage runs for food). It could possibly have been traced back to the ranch if identified later.

The car was seen and the liscence plate number was gotten when they stopped by the Rudy Weber house when to get water from the hose and was followed back to the car by Rudy after Tex told him they were walking. Clearly you like to make things up as you go along pretending to know what you're talking about.

It was in a repair shop. Sharon had damaged it the week before by backing into a car.

It is said when Sharon Tate answered the door, she looked directly into the eyes of the monster who would order her murder! That gives me cold chills! And it wasn't Jay Sebring who sent Manson away, it was the photographer who was photographing Sharon out by the pool. HE was the one acting inhospitable. Jay was not even there at the time. He was at his salon on Fairfax Ave. Abigail Folger and Voyteck Frykowski were not there as well. That was supposed to have been one or two weeks BEFORE the murders took place.

I think he said he did hear them but thought they were firecrackers. But his story changed over the years. I think the guy just was not well. Whether being the original suspect in one of the most famous murder cases in history and living through all that made him unwell or he already was unwell is anyone’s guess.

I think he was just being sarcastic about the lack of details. In other words the investigating units were not releasing any information that shed any light on the whys and wherefores. The press probably suspected they were withholding some details (which was true) and just wanted to dig more.

You apparently know nothing about homicide investigations, Miss Thing. They don't tell the press everything and the coroner or medical examiner stated that they were further investigations, which is normal during an autopsy. All results don't come back ASAP. This appears to be one or two days after the Tate murders. They couldn't have known everything so STFU.

@@cagurl9113 Brown Harris is right. The Doctor was disclosing the cause of death for each victim, not describing every injury. No one tried to remove Sharon's baby. That's just one of several misconceptions believed about the case.

@@lynzvoets1227 that may have been a detail that Susan Atkins just used to embellish her crime, I Frykowski was beaten and stabbed as well as J Sebring being shot in the face it was very clear that both he and Sharon had been hung by the rafters also by the abrasions around their neck. They just didn't want to provide all the grisly details! In other words these victims were basically annihilated!! Noguchi was woefully inadequate in the autopsies of Marilyn Monroe and Natalie Wood also!!

This is the coroner (Noguchi or Henry Lee, not sure which) Well renowned who went on to lend his expertise to the OJ Simpson murder trial and later, "The Staircase" trial as well
