Malcolm is such a nice guy and really cool to his fans. He's got a lot of ability. Glad he did get a good ride for next year. Like most everybody I think he's better on a 450 because of his size and weight. Starts are ultra crucial to doing well, and with his weight it will be hard to get decent starts, especially in supercross where traction is good and weight on the tires isn't going to help like in an outdoor. Even with the extra ability he has that can compensate for the weight, he's still handicapped on the starts no matter what. Hopefully they'll get as much grunt out of that 250 as possible to help get him out of the gate and out of corners decent enough where his corner speed and good scrubbing can be utilized. The dude is just cool as he can be and I hope he does well.

While I agree that he definitely fits the 450 better, I think you have to think about the future for him as well. Being on the factory Honda squad is an awesome opportunity and look at all the guys that have factory 450 rides now after being on the GEICO squad: Barcia, Hahn, Tomac, Canard, etc. Plus, I think that he's matured as a rider and we know he can definitely handle the bike. I look for big things this year out of Mookie.

Whats the word on the status of James Stewart for supercross ? I haven't heard a single thing, and Malcolm is looking super fast!

seems like he's too big for that bike. It looks to me like he can't even scrub the same as he can on a 450 with the extra power he needs to do it. Hope he goes back to the 450 class as eli tomac's teammate :D

I guess he couldn't find a 450 ride for the SX season. Shows how cut throat the competition is that a rider of his caliber can't get the ride he really wants but at least Geico came to the party in the end.

That bike is going to need a rebuild every time he rides it.

Considering he is riding a 250 he's not over reving all that much

Too bad he couldn't make a 450 team, and that he didn't try to make something out of the Seven team- thought he had a good program but I'll take a factory 250 ride over a privateer 450 ride any day, wise move!
