Normally I would cut the video down more, but I figured I'd show what the reality out there was. I didn't even come close to the waves I wanted, but I felt lucky to even get a wave. Redemption session coming in 20 years next time it breaks hahaha
Great vid thanks for sharing this type pf content. There are many "perefect wave" videos of this day in this wave on youtube but none of them show how brutal the crowd factor was. It seemed absolutely anarchic so i guess that it should have been quite dangerous...
Yea it was hectic. I saw a lot of bloody faces from guys slamming the reef after getting stuffed but somehow I didn't see a single altercation. I guess when something this rare happens everyone gets extra selfish haha
@@ConD00R hey, I used to sell those on my online store years ago, I used it a lot before but I found gopro bite mount is way better, more stable… and more comfortable to your teeth, trust me… if you try GoPro’s then you wouldn’t go back to pro standard one
@@MicBergsma Lost a tooth to the GoPro one a while back. Really like how the grill mount molds to the teeth like a mouthpiece. Pretty helpful when getting smoked or hitting my head on the reef which I do way too much haha
@@ConD00R thanks for the answer. A 9 footer may be too dificult to handle for me in that type of wave but each surfer has their style and preferences. Greetings from argentina You should come by
Wondering how the lineup was regulated in a swell like this. I saw that video of a wavestorm ruining billy kempers wave. Were people getting told to go in?
To be honest I didn't see any regulation at all other than drop ins. Everyone got burned and almost everyone was burning. If this happened on O'ahu there would have been 100 scraps for sure
