I’ve had all of my attacks during peaceful moments, where it’s the last thing you’d expect to happen. 🤷‍♂️ Anxiety is triggered in some people but has no rhyme or reason for others, like me. That’s something people typically don’t understand. I’ve always been easy going. This isn’t nervousness. It just happens. It’s like your body thinks its dying and goes into panic mode. One thing I do is get physically comfortable and start to focus on small things that are real, like feel a texture, focus on something colorful, or maybe watch the leaves swaying in the wind. It helps “bring me back” to reality. Take care, Amy, and thank you for sharing!

Old post, but just wanted to comment that this is so true. I am not 'anxious' about most things, but I still wake up with full blown panic attacks in the middle of the night. Strange and annoying, but learned to deal with it.

Sometimes we think we are ok, but stress cripples subconsciously. And the attack comes in the relaxation phase. In most cases , it also comes along some physical exhaustion, so self -care helps a lot❤

I had the same presentation of symptoms. After many years a cardiologist discovered I have an aldosterone deficiency as well as SVT'S. If you have panic attack symptoms without the racing negative thoughts consider having your doctor check your adrenal glands and kidneys. Too many doctors diagnose panic attacks without considering other possible issues.

About anxiety, I have been leading with this for many years. Suffering multiple panic atacks everyday. As you said in the video your thoughts and your body can give opposite informations: your body shakes and feels fear whereas there is no objective danger so you think that everything is ok, but the body doesn't agree. I had to study and practice many years to be able to get rid of most of this anxiety. And as you also said, the solution is to take care of you, because if you don't eat in a healthy way, learn how to move and breathe in a healthy way, organise your activity respecting your human limits, all this resulting in positive thinking, you will always have your body, made of chemicals (what you eat, drink,...) and your nervous system in a bad condition, and this will sonner or later lead to anxiety. Hopefully, people like you give an examplified message of hope showing the power of positivity. I wish you the best, so to all the people who support you

I struggle with depression and sometimes anxiety. Im not good with large crowds or loud noises for a long period of time. One time i went to go watch the Aurora lights by myself and there were a lot of people. I started to have a panic attack and almost left. Then i remembered i had a speaker in my truck and i grabbed it and played music, and that helped me settle down and relax. Music helps me with my depression and anxiety. As does nature. Also you spread such kindness and happiness. Keep doing that AmyMarie. You are an amazing person! Don't ever lose that trait!

"Its not something that defines me"... Thats the key!! Its easy to wrap up your identity in your experiences, but its not your challenges or failures that define you, its the direction you choose for your journey that defines you. Thats why they say life is a journey not a destination.

Inside Out is a fantastic movie! I don’t think Pixar has a bad movie, from my experience. I hope you’re doing amazing! A great therapist is always helpful, and good friends and family. That’s what’s helped me, especially in the last year. I finally have a therapist that is HELPING me to improve my existence. Returning to spiritual is the next step I have for recovery (from a trauma I was stuck in for 9.5 years). Thank you for your videos! This is my first non short video. You’ve put a smile on my face nearly every video I’ve watched. I say “nearly” because many, I’ve already been smiling. Keep smiling and at least showing US your happiness. Happiness is infectious.

Well, I didn't know I suffered anxiety for the longest time. I deal with mild anxiety, mild depression(used to be worse), and I was suicidal. I attempted a couple times. It's a road I hope to NEVER take again. The way I've been dealin with it was usually alone(like most). So I just ride the storm when it happens or I avoid the triggers as much as I can. There's always a light at the end of every tunnel. I've never let anyone in. It has always been easier for other people to open up to me than me to anyone else. (Troubles to an unrelated situation). This world needs more people like you. Keep doing you. You are awesome. 😊👍

It’s good to talk it out. Just telling your story can help people. When you tell people your story, their want to talk to someone about their story. Because they feel more confident to let everything out. It’s a on going event because it was all from you telling story. That is what happened to me. Once I opened up with dealing/struggling with anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Other people felt comfortable and confident to talking about their struggles. Not just to me but others to seek up. It’s all about telling your story

Thanks for sharing. As someone who has struggled with anxiety disorder for decades , it is absolutely true that your mind can make you think you're the only one going through this. The tendency to view yourself as broken or damaged goods only exacerbates the feeling of isolation. Self talk and knowing the psychological and physiological stages that I go through during a panic attack helps me to cope with the experience. For me when the intensity gets to the point of having heart palpitations, I know that the worst of it has happened and it's going to pass and that's the worst that's going to happen. One thing I've learned about my own body is that when my glucose levels get low , I get very nervous and anxious feeling and that it's just my body's response to a real physiological change. Once I get some food on board those feelings subside as my glucose levels normalize. Sorry for being so wordy, but sometimes just knowing the why of something can help you navigate the experience itself and remove the negative stigma we attach to it.

Its hard when you feel like you have dealt with traumatic experiences and something severe happens in your life and it brings everything up to the surface. I had 3 forms of ptsd now and have lots of panic attacks which you can't stop but try and recognise the triggers. It helps to talk to others and to help others with theirs. It helps to know that you're not alone. People judge you for it but screw it as it doesn't matter what strangers think. My working dog helps me through mine. He is my rock and protects me always. Look out for each other and stay safe x

My own experience of chronic anxiety, depression and panic disorder has been a response to life changing injuries. Most people seem to get and respect the physical challenges I face, but seem to find the emotional and psychological consequences hard to take, hard to understand and hard to tolerate - as do I really. I'm grateful to people like you Amy for sharing and helping folk understand. I'm in awe of your positive spirit too!

The past few years I have done a lot of work with anxiety, stress and so on. I spent a lot of time identifying a trigger, and interestingly enough it always narrowed down to a fear which more often than not was subconscious and irrational. Now anytime I feel stressed or anxious I always go straight to asking my self, "what am I afraid of", and once I identify that I am able to work through that anxiety and stress with the tools I have taught myself.

I am a Family Doctor from Switzerland. I really appreciate your testimony. It is very important to talk about anxiety and panic attacks. From what you said, it is also possible that you have some kind of arrythmia, like wolff parkinson white syndrome etc. Have you had your heart checked and an ECG? There are also devices where you can record an ECG during an attack. I would recomend it. WPW-Syndrome could be treated :) best wishes from Zürich!

I loved this video. I've had to grapple with panic attacks- not affecting me specifically in open settings but would come on very hard during private moments. I've learned to deal with it with having "emotional" time during hours of the night, giving myself the emotional release and reflection time. I love the fact you talk about the hard hitting subjects. These untalked about issues that effect everyone the most. Love your videos Amy. Keep doing you! ❤️

Its unreal where the universe will guide you. Ive been through a rough breakup, and always dancing has been a big part of my life I thought about how I saw your old vines way back when and loved your little freestyles. Randomly without even looking you up let alone I forgot your name, your video popped up and inspired me to hit the freestyles again! So thank you! Also, for me whats helped me with my anxiety is that i learned for myself that anxiety comes from being caught in the past and in the future (mentally). Everyone is different and experiences anxiety different but I found that staying in the present moment helped me. There is only now, the past has happened and the future will always be just that. My anxiety always came from me not being in the moment. Meditation has been a big help for me and being able to focus on myself. We're only human and we can just go on being our best self! Peace and Love. ✌

Thank you so much for sharing this ❤ I appreciate you explaining how your anxiety directly contradicts who you are as a person. And it's so sweet that Honey tries (succeeds in?) comforting you. I hope things have gotten easier or at least more manageable for you. It seems you don't do many full videos like this anymore, but I'd love to see a followup video of what's changed (especially through covid) and how you have managed since. Especially hearing that you seemingly deal like chronic pain? You're so right, we see people and think (ex.) because they're successful, they must not have any struggles. It's really inspirational to hear that even with anxiety attacks and pain, you are still so successful and have ways of coping that let you manage. Sincerely, someone with anxiety ❤

I’ll be honest, I woke up having some anxiety this morning. And It’s been a while since I’ve had any, since I’ve been on medication for the past couple months. But after watching this video, I was left very happy. I loved hearing you go in depth on the topic and how it’s not a terrible thing. It’s nice being able to relate to someone with anxiety. Btw That fairly odd parents example was perfect lol. I first started suffering from severe anxiety back in June of this year, when I was visiting NY for the first time. On my last day there, I experienced my first full blown panic attack in Times Square. Of all places right? I had to get rushed to the ER, and that’s when I learned that what I experienced was a panic attack. Then, a week after I came back home to California, I had another panic attack while I was at the movies with a friend, and I had to leave 5 mins in and go to the ER again. At that 2nd ER visit, I got referred to a therapist. Every day after that, I had mad anxiety because I was living in constant fear of having another panic attack. Then, about a month or two later, I started seeing a therapist and started going to anxiety classes. I gotta say, that was life changing for me. I’ve learned SO many things about anxiety that I never knew of. Overall, I found this whole video very reassuring. My favorite quote from the whole video was, “you are 100% guaranteed to spend 100% of your time in life with you” I loved that a lot. Bless your heart for making this, like, it was honestly one of the best videos I’ve ever watched on RU-vid. From now on, if I ever start to feel anxious, I’m always gonna think about what you said in this video. I’ve also learned to do breathing exercises to help with the anxiety. I do the exercises even when I’m not feeling anxious. Another thing I gotta start doing is approach anxiety more rather than avoid because avoiding people/places can make it worse. Btw just know, if you ever need to vent about anything, I’m always here for you, along with the whole good vibe tribe. Excuse me, while I watch this video another 10,000 times. Love you Aims❤️

I have high anxiety too. Sometimes I don't even want to go to the store or really anywhere. It gets really bad when I'm depressed too. Most of my friends know I don't like to go out with them anywhere but, don't know why. Ironically, when I'm with my son or my family, I feel confident. I used to go out a lot and it wasn't as noticeable. I guess what's helped the most is just having a good group of friends and actually doing things with them. I still get anxious and worry about dumb things but, that's just me.

I have too been dealing with anxiety fits since 12 years ago , and had to use some med to prevent the worst , plus I reformed my eating habits as well not to depend on the meds. I also had enjoyed marijuana for many years prior to all of this but had quietly quit the habit months before all of this began. I figured it was my endocrin system being out of wack , because these episodes do happen out of nowhere , though mine often happened after a meal , hence the changes I made. Fortunately this is now something of the past and life goes on. Stay beautiful and remember that YOU will always have a place in my heart. 😊 PS - I regularly do physiotherapy for my body aches. It takes between an hour and two every time , since it's a constant learning process by doing some basic motions AND then doing motion exploration. Keep shining with your natural beauty darling !

I appreciate you talking about this in such a huge huge way. For the longest time I had no idea why certain feelings crossed my mind, and as stresses in my life increased, so too did things I came to learn were my symptoms. I got chest pains just as you described, like a weight on my chest. I also thought my episodes were a heart attack. I got this laundry list of things and after talking to friends and finally reaching out I gained some understanding of what might be wrong. Finally I worked up the courage to go to the doctor and explain what had been going on and was prescribed some medication to help. I have gone through a lot of trauma in my life and thankfully have wonderful support systems and learned amazing coping skills. So I knew that these problems weren’t something that typical therapy would do too much for. After taking medication for several months, I feel SO SO SO much better, I’ve been able to focus more, I’ve been able to quell those thoughts that creep in and trigger episodes. It changed my life. I cannot begin to explain how much this means to me to see somebody I admire and who puts so much positivity into the world say these things as somebody who loves all the things you love as I am very much the same way. You are an amazing individual and thank you for sharing your story, this truly helps me feel less alone in my struggles. Thank you as always for who you are.

I'm so happy and proud for you to take this forum and discuss this shit because the struggle is real. Thank you.

I feel like usually artists expecially and HSP (hyper sensitive people) experience anxiety and panick attacks very often. I feel you. I've been dealing with it my whole life. Sometimes as an artist, anxiety freezes me not to express myself or go on stage and perform

My teen child has had wonderful results with EMDR for anxiety. She was crippled with it for years, her psych wanted to put her on meds, and now it's like a magic switch has been flipped! She had fewer than ten sessions and the outcomes have been nothing short of amazing.

Wim Hof helped a lot with my anxiety. Bringing my dad to chemo and being his caretaker left me with a lot of anxiety and fear. It was hard to do anything after dad passed, and not much helped. Something I've seen benefit in is cold showers, a tip I got from looking into Wim Hof's teachings about the body's responses to survival. Breathing meditations and cold showers have helped to slow down my mind and grant myself some silence or peace. I still experience plenty of anxiety but when I find myself in high-stress situations now I find myself much more capable of just focusing on my breath and centering my mind. Courage isn't the absence of fear, it's the presence of action despite the presence of fear. Fear is a reaction, courage is a decision. Thank you for all you do Amy

I believe anxiety is usually trying to tell us something, whether not to go somewhere or do something, for example. As if our intuition is warning us in a way. Learning to listen to our bodies is very helpful to navigate anxiety/panic attacks.

I like the way you talk about anxiety. You're right that at some point in our live something is going wrong in our head/body and that is normal. We're all human beings. It's just like your body trying to tell you something. And that should nobody ignore it, because in a long term is very important. I like that you asked yourself a lot of questions to know yourself better. It is also important to find the right questions about you. And believe me, that can take a years. And than to find the right answers. That's why I think that you're asking yourself the wrong questions. Guess what, me too. A couple of years ago I started to search information about personality development. And so I started the biggest journey in my life. The more you're digging to find the right questions and answers about yourself, the more you realized that you don't know nothing about yourseif. Childhood, parents, friends, long term purpose, everytliing what surrounds you is important and should be analyzed by yourself, because nobody knows you better than yourself. l started to realize that of all the people I know, very small group of this people knows who they really are , what they really want and what are their purpose of this world. And the difference between this people and the otfaers are enormous. I would like to be like this people. I also would like the other people to see in me not only the smile of my face but also the smile of my body. Happy body, happy me. So every day when I woke up, ask myself: " What new can I leam about myself today and I leamed about myself yesterday? " You can try it too. So let your own joumey begin!

Oh my gosh , you are so rite about how animals know when to run to your aid, my cat (Shmeow (Sh-meow))🐈‍⬛ Is like a superhero rescuing me in every anxiety attack or meltdown or any falling , slipping , tripping , spilling , smashing , crashing anything that interrupts a (going along just fine day). She helps me quickly collect myself and know that this shall soon pass, that any mess is clean up able, puts me back on solid ground like a superhero, kisses me on the cheek and quickly brings me back to that (going along just fine) day. Pets are an amazing blessing in our lives. P.S. Thanks to you and Shazam and the combo of tablet & phone I've been able to track down and identify some of the best dance tracks of all time . 2 years ago, my little sister (who was 12 at the time) was simply talking on the phone with a friend and then out of nowhere; she ran out to the living room heavily breathing and hyperventilating. She kept saying "nothing is real". Dad and I sat her down in my recliner and I had to vocally control her breathing and coach her to breathe in and out. I also put on the sounds of the ocean on RU-vid/TV. It was like a meditative thing. She had a panic attack and she has since been put on anxiety medication.

Breath and relax. Really now, when you feel anxiety, just take a deep breath and relax your shoulders. Even try relaxing your mandible (the thing you use to chew you food), because you may be clenching it to hard and that will give you headaches and maybe some light headiness. But mostly breath, if you can take a deep breath slowly, you are fine. Oh, also smile in the process, it helps too.

Your positive attitude does help you navigate well. Self care, self love and knowing your worth and your creativity really can move mountains. Anxiety though, typically has a root cause. And it can make one physically ill. If there was a repressed trauma that can also arise in the form of an unexplained health issue, often anxiety. The body would be trying to release it. Maybe undergo hypnosis to possibly reveal the nature, address it to release it, forgive whatever it was as to not carry it and kiss it goodbye for good. It was just tonight I saw your vids, seeing you can dance, sing and draw as well. Cut yourself some slack bc you are doing more than most ever thought to think they can. No need to beat yourself up. Step outside of self, view self as another. Would you be hard on them when you see all their glowing talents? No. You would be in awe so, be in awe of SELF. You deserve it. 🙏💖💫🐦🌱🌎

Not that you can tell, but I never would have guessed that you deal with bad or let's say negative anxiety. There are all kinds of good and bad anxiety, and some a lot worse than others. I have lived with it all of my life, but only knew what it was or what was happening to me just lately. It can be debilitating. There are meds out there that help with anxiety, it's just finding the right one, plus exercising, any activities, and if you are any type of an artist, this is one of the things that's really helped with it or preventing it. I am an artist, mainly a musician, and I truly think or let's say, I know that us artists suffer with this more than most. Amy Everytime you talk, I hear the same things that I say, feel, and believe, and I truly believe it's because we are artists. Many many artists in the past, such as my hero Chris Cornell has past because of anxiety and depression, it's killed alot of us. If I could say anything about this to anyone, it's don't hesitate to get help, Dr or whoever, just do it before it's to late, please. And yes it was nice to hear from you on this subject Amy, I truly hate that you do have to deal with the negative type but as you said, it's helpful to hear that someone else is there with me. L e your silver rings, big fan. But, Thank you girl. Chad Cole

Some #RealTalk indeed! u nailed a lot of good points darling! and as I have said before your smile is like a gleaming ray of sunshine on my day and was further impressed to see you tackle your feelings that most are too proud or embarrassed to put themselves out there in front of peers… here you are basically using yourself as ao to help establish such dialog in the way you did it! #Real! (Such a sweet heart you are! Warm fuzzies all around! Bug up!. Living with epislepsy, ADHD, Dyslexia, to which all have taxed me with extreme Anxiety and like yourself, mine has gotten worse since COVID. I continually find that the more you take thie time to better know and understand yourself and soul combined with following and actually doing what you love to do and accept it, than stigma really shouldn’t matter… But yes it still there and could be confused with excitement as your dream gets closer to rendering its’ reality!!. All in all! Great content and keep smiling! #Muah from #Caanada > @TimMulvey #TimMulvey #NawDaw ….Holla!

Nice to talk about it, it's honest because I think everybody share good's part online and youngs one who are looking at it begin to think everybody is happy and only them are struggling with their life. Anxiety touch a lot of people, in fact everybody, some people deals with it instantaneously, others have troubles because they are more sensitive... That is my case and just my opinion I don't say it's true. I am goning on my 36 and made a lot of things, school, jobs, theater, ... but recently I panic just passing motor bike licence that I missed. I was hard on myself but just not the right time for me, maybe times are too hard for me. My body said it tom me trough that miss. Just wanted to share it also. Good advice to deal with humour, it create distance between you and anxiety, thanks :) Sensitive people have a lot to give to this world, I send good vibes to everyone going trough hard times. Peace form France ...and sorry for my english :p
