I just am getting this in folks, Mr. Newton has decided to take steps toward the basement after growing tired of his stand off with coworkers. Although said coworkers have retired and moved on Ryan states that until now it just wasn’t what he wanted to do!

It was serious that day Wichita normally doesn't get tornados on the city but that day we had 3 that surrounded the city and closed in. I remember like it was yesterday

I always find warnings on tv and on the news if they have to take cover creepy. It gives me the chills.

@donkey3187 because we're so used to how controlled things are on TV, so when something goes wrong, it catches us off guard. Unexpected things can cause anxiety due to fear of the unknown. Potential thoughts can involve things like you're watching people live in danger, and there is nothing you can do to help them. If the professionals are in trouble, where does that leave me? Am I about to watch someone on my local station that I see every morning die? Of course, I live in an area that has had tornado warnings twice within my 24 year lifetime so I can't say much from experience. Take what I say with a grain of salt.

you always kinda think of them as not there? like you just usually see the studio, it's like a disconnect from reality, it's like peering into another world, so when a local event like a tornado or hurricane hits news channels, you just kinda snap back into the realisation that they are just as much there as you are.

@@SVENYit’s funny that you mention this… for my whole life, I’ve always had some sort of psychological discomfort whenever I drive by the local news’ studio in town (which is every day)… _surely_ _they’re_ _not_ _actually_ _in_ _this_ _random_ _building_ _when_ _they’re_ _telling_ _me_ _the_ _news_ _every_ _evening…_ That would be preposterous.

I remember something like this.... Was storming all night, we'd lost power, family was sitting around the weather radio (didn't have smartphones back then lol) and we hear them start leaving the room to take shelter. The mics were still hot so we just hear it go quiet and then we hear the storm just rattling the place. We were all gaping at eachother list holy crap!

I live in the city that they are broadcasting from, and just to set the record straight, they were not hit by a tornado... i dont even believe that there was a tornado on the ground at that current time
