Unrelated but have I know we are coming up to the tragic death of Owen hart, but have we passed or are we coming up on when D'lo accidentally paralyzed Droz?
I can’t remember last time nitro even tied lol. I think most of us switched and stopped watching WCW when they did the red and black A team and black and white B team
I liked the HBK reveal of him being a recording being shown as live while he's actually in the ring in disguise. Hope the WWF use that idea again soon.
Not just one of, but it was literally THE highest rated segment in WWE history until This is Your Life a few months later; even today it's still #2. I especially love how Gas, Rodney, Brisco, & Patterson could never really explain WHY their match was the highest-rated segment, but the simple fact that it was actually helped get Gas & Rodney proper wrestling contracts. It'll be tough to not have the Posse around for a few months of RtW, but they'll be back in time for SummerSlam.
Tony Schiovani: "Tonight on the other wrestling show, Gerald Briscoe and Pat Patterson will beat the Mean Street Posse, who will be forced to leave the company. That'll put butts in seats."
It's a great episode i remember watching live. The reveal of Shawn being the third guard was a huge hype moment. Thank you, Ryan, for bringing this memory back to me.
This episode of Raw actually was supposed to be the night that Owen was supposed to do that stunt that got him killed 13 days later, however he did wrestled Kurt Angle in a dark match!
Reliving the war is one of the greatest contributions to fans in pro wrestling history! This has been so much fun! Thank you for all of the hard work. The Monday night wars were so great!!!!
It's funny what RLtW has done for my nostalgia goggles. I remember being a HUGE Sable fan back in the day, but looking back, she really was just a ho. Jackie, Chyna, Ivory, and even Luna did more for the women's division during that time than she ever did, but because she just got naked whenever wherever she's the one who is remembered; I'm thankful for Trish and Lita coming along in the next year and really showing what the women could bring to the table!
I think Patterson and Brisco started using Hulk Hogan's theme around this time. They would also use that theme in WrestleMania 2000 and No Mercy on the N64.
This episode of Raw brought to you by Vinny Ru....pole match, evening gown match, dq finishes, pointless storylines lol this episode may be his Stairway to Heaven 😂
Bro I love your intro song for this it is so badass and fitting. Glad I subscribed to this channel and I appreciate all your hardwork love and dedication to it.
I could be wrong, but I think the result of the evening gown match might've been the first and only reverse Dusty Finish in the history of pro wrestling.
Man, Sable was very popular yet it really didn't last very long. You'd have thought she had a years long push at the top the way some people try and frame her legacy. She was popular more for a lack of competition then being good for wrestling.
Pretty much everything Sable was involved in was complete trash. She couldn't talk, she couldn't wrestle, and she looked like a stripper/porn star on her second comeback after failed attempts at starting a real estate business and a pet grooming salon. She was only there as wank fodder for 14-year-old boys and people who were too repressed to rent porn. _"White cotton panties, pal"._
Indeed. And honestly, I can't even blame that HBK reversed the decision of the Evening Gown match and awarded the Women's Championship to Debra, considering that the RTW videos show that Debra was being much more relevant to the RAW episodes than Sable for the past months (not as much as Chyna, but if I remember correctly, Chyna herself didn't want to get involved with the women's division at that time) - and unlike Sable, Debra did drop the belt to a proper wrestler on the first opportunity.
Monica Seles for anyone who doesn't know. Became world the number one women's tennis player in the early 90s. Before she was stabbed by a lunatic on the tennis courts during a match. But Seles thankfully would come back from a injuries after being stabbed, to become world number one again.
I know that she’s often called a diva or a bitch but I hesitate to trust that in a male dominated industry like pro wrestling. I can’t lie that she was outstanding in the ring or something but treating her like the Devil incarnate is a little suspect.
One of the highest rated episodes of Raw. Shame how WWE has yet to reach the same height of success as the Attitude Era. This is why this past stuff is more entertaining than today's wrestling.
@@stevenmacaulay8807 His right star power was bigger and the ratings was bigger it was the best time for wrestling, the current product can’t hold a candle to the attitude era.
I saw that thumbnail, and instantly remembered how cool Kane was when he still had the mask. When they took his mask away, they also took his cool factor away.
Hey man... not sure when/if you'll read this, but I'll just leave it here nonetheless. I first became interested in pro wrestling during my early teenage years, and I have been an "on and off" fan since... I first stumbled upon your channel over a year ago, your Ministry Of Darkness video being my introduction to your content. At the time, I wasn't following wrestling and hadn't been since the year 2015, but I instantly became addicted to your work. Not only are your videos entertaining, but they are also incredibly insightful. You have an exemplary way of expressing & discussing some of the things that were key reasons why I became a wrestling fan in the first place. Your videos teach a lot about the history of the business, offering well-informed, well thought out retellings of some of my favourite storylines & matches, and at the same time educating me about the stuff which took place when I wasn't watching or wasn't even born yet. Your videos have had such an impact on me that I've started watching wrestling again in the year 2024... something I never thought I'd do. It's definitely nothing like what I grew up with, and given the current controversies it's not exactly a perfect time to be proud of being a wrasslin' fan, but... I can't help it lol. Thank you and please keep up the good work!
What's the music at 21:36 ? Sounds like something from a video game and I'm sure I recognise it from somewhere else. Love the channel by the way - you deserve 1 million+ subs easily.
Val Venis sells the DDT better than any other wrestler I've ever seen on my life. No joke. I love the way he always flips over like he got spiked right on the top of his head. Great work.
Honestly, the companies seemed to phone it in when the other wasn't competing against them. Its like they were saving the best stuff so you would turn the channel.
1st Raw with Triple H in trunks replacing the long tights. That HBK segment was probably best bit of the show. Most of the show weirdly had no contests despite the cards stacked in the babyfaces' favour for a change.
Not the first time Pat has used his helmet to hit somebody 😂😂😂 your jokes are gold man. And that mean street possie theme never fails to make me laugh 😂
I really hope that by the time we get to "It was Me Austin. It was Me all along." that there's like a list of things that seem counter productive for Vince if it were actually him the whole time. 😄👍
To address the, ahem, 2:33 situation: Kane didn't miss with that kick; he was using his foot to channel the unholy powers of the Netherworld to propel Billy backwards.
Usually a Wrestling character is that wrestlers real life personality turned up to 11 with Vince the evil perverted power mad thinks he can do whatever he wants Mr Mcmahon character was Vince toned down
He allegedly sexually assaulted the woman with dildos that he had named after The Big Show and Omos, causing her bruising and bleeding. Absolutely mental.
"There was a turd hidden in a cup this time, and somebody went on recon and found out the location of the luggage and everything, and finally I found it and made the deposit, and I ran as fast as I could back to gorilla [position], my music started playing Boom walked through the curtain and had my f'ing match, and she carried it all the way back and found it when they got home" - Sean Waltman lol
