That moment when you watch Reliving the War as soon as it comes out....only to realize you have to wait another whole week for the next episode. Best wrestling content on RU-vid.
I started watching reliving the war after he posted the June 16th, 1997 episode I binged every episode & even stopped myself a few times when I realized I was getting too close to being caught up It took me 3 weeks to get caught up
I just realized that since this started with the first episode of nitro, we’re 9 weeks away from Lugar winning the world title… at least that’s what my Steiner math says.
4 more actually. Which is weird since Luger won on the 100th nitro but the episode would be the 95th. I'm guessing there were nights were only one show aired and so WB skipped them.
@@didymus3348 They are covered (episodes 21.5, 23.5 and 46.5). "The Story of the First Nitro" also features an unopposed show.. so that's the 4 you're looking for. Every unopposed show has an upload on the channel. Check the playlist.
Of all the addiction stories in Wrestling History I'm glad that someone finally had the guts to bring light to Davey Boy Smith's lesser known battle against being a Chinlockaholic Thank you for doing this story the justice it so deserves
Welcome to Thursday Afternoon Reliving the War. Simply the best program about Pro Wrestling on the RU-vid and the Internet. Thank you once again for giving us this trip down memory lane.
I recall being 11 years old and marking out for it. I’ve always been a huge fan of DDP and I got asked him about this when I met him back in 2016. He said it was one of his all time favorite “coolest things he’d ever done in wrestling”.
The next 4 weeks of RAW felt like an intense Hockey or NBA playoff series. With home court advantage changing back and forth. As a Canadian, perhaps my favorite month of wrestling EVER.
Your series has given me a new respect for Bret Hart. My dad used to tell me all the time how amazing he was back in the day, now I see it in action. It also helps that I’m Canadian and a diehard Oilers fan 🇨🇦🧡
It’s been the same for me. Although I’m not a Canadian. I was never that big a Bret Hart fan back in the day. It’s only as I’ve grown older I’ve come to appreciate his work more. This series is helping a lot with this too. 97, for me was the greatest year in pro wrestling, ever. The Canada VS USA storyline played a big part in that. It was such a unique storyline. I wonder what would have happened to Bret Harts career had he been able to stay in the WWF post Survivor Series 97.
The Canadian Pride in government didn't age well after this weekend F castros son and the Junior prime ministers granddaughter of a Nazi showed how it treats its people
I get the Taka support. I remember when I was still basically a mark, it was "THIS AWESOME JAPANESE GUY.. Against that nobody who we won't even hype". It's human nature to root for the underdog!
Future highlights: Luger's biggest moment in WCW: August 4. 1997. Kane's first appearance: October 5, 1997 Jericho's heel turn: January 24, 1998 Spoiler for next week: The WWF debut of Dude Love.
Congratulations sir you have a new subscriber. This is the first time I watched any of your videos and I absolutely love them so now I'm going to go back and rewatch every one of reliving the wars
DDP revealing himself when he pinned the Macho Man is still funny. Scott Hall didn't know what happened. It certainly is one of the best moments of Nitro.
love these episodes man miss this time period i was glad to be alive during this era of wrestling and watching it, thanks wrestlingbios for this bringing back so much memories of these man thanks always look forward to these episodes every thursday thanks so much wrestlingbios.
Watching the attitude era of wrestling for the first time in my life (I didnt exist back in 97) and austin just became the biggest heel for me when he hit mankind
Another stellar episode as usual sir, I look forward to Thursdays because of RtW. Sure it would be easy to just go back and watch all of this stuff myself but your commentary and view point on things is so refreshing and makes it "must see" RU-vid. Thank you very much for all you do for your fans.
GG Allin reference, a Triumph the Insult Comic Dog reference, a D'Lo Brown chinlock! this episode has it all. I'll be ordering me a Bret's Jam shirt this weekend. keep up the great work!
This video is very special to me. This episode covers the shows from the day of my birth. I was born 7/7/1997, a month before my due date. Only thing that would have made it better is some DAVEY BOY SMITH CHINLOCKS
I wish I could have watched WCW and WWF back in 1997. I'm enjoying these episodes of Reliving the War. You've got great humor and I'm over here trying to hold in my laughter. I'm going to have to rewatch from the beginning.
Makes me appreciate how good these days were. I took WWE for granted over WCW back then because I was a huge NWO fan. But I forgot how great factions such as theHart Foundation, NOD and the development of stars such as Mick Foley, Rock ,Austin, Kane, the evolution of Taker really was.
I love this scene/moment. I use it as a reference when attempting to break down multiple aspects in life. It is such a pertinent and exemplary example of why Marvel is so wonderful and thought provoking on many different levels.
