Does the Rawlings REV1X deserve to be on our top 3 list for middle infielders? That's exactly what we're trying to figure out. To see the rest of the glove list go here ballgloveking.com/
I just took grounders with my Rev for the first time and it is legit the best infield glove I’ve ever had on my hand. I bought it 30% off with a sceptical mindset, but it is SO GOOD that I’ll have a hard time not getting another one when I need a new piece, even at full retail.
Chris your videos are not only informative but entertaining I always learn something about baseball gloves in your videos. Keep up the GREAT work ! All the best, Greg Jeranek
I love my Rev1X. I was using the 12.75 pro gold glove trapeze style before, which is a fantastic glove, and once I got my Rev1X to the point where it was starting to break in, it is off the charts awesome.
I just wanna say thanks for all the great video's, I was looking for a new glove and just picked one up at a 30% discount ..otherwise I’d still be sitting on the fence lol, much appreciated my friend 🙂👍🏽 keep up the great work.
Thanks for this video. I tend to get glove FOMO and the REV-1X is what I consider the apex glove for me. But obviously I can't pay $400 for one because my wife would fire me from the family. Good to know it's still good but maybe I'm not missing out as much as I thought. My family thanks you 😊.
@davisroltsch2426 good looking out but I'm spending lockdown (softball dues, gymnastic dues, due dues) but if the time comes 290 would be something I could do. Maybe for my birthday gift.
As someone who used to relace I liked that it takes up less laces. The heel can be tricky if you forget to put the wrist correctly and I’d be concerned cus there’s only like two holes securing that down. So far not crazy that they haven’t gone outside single post and I webs for their stock/ DSG infield models but I guess that’s why they finally dropped the custom builder. From my taking I believe Rev1x is a play on previous models Rawlings has done in the past ie Revolution Series circa early 2000s where pros like Sosa, Gwynn Jr, Griffey and so forth had uniquely futuristic custom design gloves. Then around 2010s you had Revo Series where you see similar Rev1x features like no thumb and pinky laces and unique heel lacing.
I feel like you’re being really optimistic and positive about the rev1x. To me it’s a nice and thorough effort to makes a different concept of a glove. However it takes away all the good things about having a beautiful piece of leather on your hand with that sweet spot on the pocket.
I have a Rev1x. I like that its a little less weight. I dont care for the dramatic flair so the thumb and pinky stiffness isnt a big feal. The wristband feels great. I like my hand snug. I also have big hands and find this more comfortable than any other glove in my collection. Alsi bought new with tags on eBay for $260.
I’m all good with synthetic materials being used on a glove, but WHERE they’ve decided to use them on the REV-1X makes it an immediate no from me. That wrist band is such an incredible deal breaker.
The elastic bands on the back should be adjustable or 3/4"-1" longer, it makes it a little harder ( too tight on the back of the hand) to close when you have your hand in the glove the conventional way, now when you do two in the pinky the glove closes perfectly, but not everybody does two in pinky.
Hey chris i was wondering what glove i should get .I need a new infield glove. I just dont know which one to get. I play 13u about to go to highschool. I would kove your help.please
To each their own, I watch every video BGK puts out but I had to stop this one. It was too much. We come here for glove stuff not the crap that is every where else on social media. Totally cool if you keep up with your "message", but that'll be an unsub for me
I have an idea, take a new Rex 1x and get new laces, cut into the laces where the 3d printed panel thingys are and replace them with felt ones, then take the laces you bought to lace them up
Would you recommend this glove for youth players (7/8u)? My kiddo is decent size for his age and currently games a pedroia fit A1000 which works fine. I like the idea of less laces and a lighter glove for a youth hand size/strength. Not a fan of most youth options that feel way too flimsy/cheap.
I recently purchased a REV1X, and I hate it as a guy with larger hands (I wear my gloves 2 in the pinky). It's so uncomfortable that I dont use it. I wish Rawlings had put the REV backing on a 205 HOH and left out the plastic inserts and stretch wrist.
I’m a Jays fan and Bichette uses one and they look sick so I checked the price and damn they are expensive especially for someone who doesn’t play professionally I was sad
notice that he hasn't used one in the last 130 games and his fielding improve dramatically. He was one of the worst fielders in the game with his glove hand with that rev-1X and now he went back to a regular pro200 and he's been solid.
Hi! I hope someone's see this, and has an answer. But, I'm buying a glove in a few hours, and I was wondering what glove would actually break down quicker... An Easton pro hybrid, or a Shoeless Joe?
I REALLY hope im not too late but you 10000% should get the Easton Pro Hybrid. Its an incredible glove and the shoeless Joe is not. If you did buy the Shoeless Joe I would highly recommend returning it if you can!
is it still called a dp15? I'll do it for you. Great if you have small hands and like a shallow small glove with a single hinge break-in. Great pattern for kids or shrimps.
BGK comin thru with off season content👍! Ive never had the Rev1X but im not a fan of synthetics in general.. i hate superskin, same thing he says about the Rev being comfortable to the point it feels cheap, ive had that experience with A2K SuperSkin, very comfortable on hand but feels like a cheap Walmart , Nerf glove or something?!
@@cfj003 synthetics can be used on the shell on the finger side without any issue, and I don't agree with the OP about super-skin because that stuff is crazy durable and doesn't affect break-in or performance. But the Rev-1x does no wear well and If you consider it to be a high quality glove your standards are low. High price tag it does have though.
@@cfj003no i stand by what i said 100% & You can use all the $2 words u want , where tf did i say i equate anything?! I said the shit feels cheap cause it does! Its plastic..
Rawlings: how about a HOH with that built in wrist strap? That strap alone makes that glove worth the ugliness. I have thinner hands and wrist and it’s just so secure
The wrist strap is adjustable on a HOH, you just shift the lace to the other holes. Also consider the 300 series gloves in HOH, they were designed for a slender hand in mind also. Great patterns tbh.
I'd look to a more knowledgeble source for that. If you want a glove to last. no creams, no water, no heat. Find a buddy that throws gas and just play catch, play catch on the couch with yourself. if you like to close a glove a specific way start by softening your breakpoints early on. Look for japanese craftsmen shaping gloves on youtube. They'll give you some good ideas on how to bend and shape to get the close you want.
calling the glove "stupid and dumb" is the lamest thing I have ever heard. I have 100+ gloves/mitts all makes model materials vintage from 1920s etc. I have NEVER thought to call a glove "stupid and dumb" its the USER...
Glorified Walmart glove, it’s 50% plastic and even the real leather on it isn’t even pro preferred quality but you’re paying $400, makes no sense. Rawlings just trying to cut corners by using cheaper material and still selling for very high prices. No adjustability, not gonna last as long as a pro preferred, no freedom to shape it how you would like, looks like a toy, I have no clue why people love this thing.
I think you would benefit by being a little more open to this. Some of your points are valid but I promise you this is not a cheaply made glove. It's high quality. $400 worth... maybe not if these thumb and pinky inserts are gonna break. but everything else on this glove is awesome
Because its flashy, and futuristic. People don't know why they like it. they just do. They are actually trying to get more market share and be cooler then wilson with the 12 to 16 year old crowd where wilson is dominating them in the space. I'd think these are more expensive to make due to the process to make that material custom like this. leather isn't that expensive and seamstresses in the philippines are a dime a dozen
@@aarondriskell2950 nah why do christians, always have the need to tell the world that they are christian. Like we get it, I just want to watch some baseball content. You don't see Buddhists do this
@@aarondriskell2950 if you think all he does is wear a t-shirt clearly you haven't watched all his videos. But then again this generation of people are getting offended over people asking them to use the correct pronouns, so maybe you are right.
