Ray Allen is such a wonderful individual. People don't understand how difficult it can be for someone to concentrate on anything other than basketball when you're in such an establishment. However, Ray finds time to be a wonderful father as well as a phenomenal athlete. He is the perfect role model.
I'm a Laker fan, but in 2008 I was glad the Celtics won the title. Not for the team, but for Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Rajon Rondo. They all deserved it like hell. Then I was glad in 2010 when the Lakers won to show the basketball world that they did have the ability to beat the Celtics. Both Finals went the way I wanted them to.
it is really tough for star players , competetors like ray allen and kg be with a weak team and drag them on their shoulders. thank god both of them now are in a gret team right now and i hope they wll have their rings this year
Dawg my bad man I don't know what I was thinkn lol Real talk he's the best clutch shooter in the nba and with the Celts he's gon do big thangs this year!!
@fatpigsinlove Also, when you jump, make sure to release the ball at your maximum jump height. Don't jump and wait too long before releasing, because then you'll be coming back down and it will be very hard to shoot. So another trick is to release the ball at the maximum height of your jump, just before you start to go back down. So after you jump, you gotta shoot the ball quickly.
@fatpigsinlove There's one thing you should know though: shooting is not about having strength in the arms. It's about having strength in the legs. You say you're not strong enough to shoot yet...but maybe you are. Maybe you're just not using your legs. To have strength in your shot, you must use your legs as a spring, and jump. The strength must come from your legs...not your arms. Your arms are just there to release the ball. What pushes the ball is really the force from your legs.
he should go somewhere else now he has his ring with boston. i love the way he plays and he is undoubtedly the best shooter in the game today. but i miss seeing him play in seattle because he has sacrificed 10ppg to play with the celtics with garnett and pierce.
@WorldOfSnakes I thought the elbo is suppost to be low... if the ball is above ur head then the elbow is high and u dont get much movement from it because theres less to straighten if u know what i mean... the elbow takes less time to get straight so u have less power..
samjldale: yup! that's why even though I don't like the Celtics, I still got respect for Allen. one of the very few players for me to say I got respect for if their on a team I don't prefer. I dont HATE the Celtics, but I don't like them either
@WorldOfSnakes by the way, he shoots the ball differently now as he is in Boston than he did in Seattle. His elbow is low now... watch some vids and make comparisons if u want.
@WorldOfSnakes Im having that problem right now ;/ I'm trying to figure out how to keep the elbow low and the hand above my head (or is it just the ball above the head?). But when i look at allen closely, his muscle makes it look like the elbow is low, his elbow is almost as high as his nose, When I do that, it looks completely different, thats y u can never shoot like ray, his arm is long and muscly, unlike other people's.
@fatpigsinlove I didn't shoot above my head till I was 20 years old. Lol...yeah I was late. But for you, you should start practicing to shoot the correct way, have the correct form (above your head), as soon as you can. Just practice practice practice...at first, maybe for weeks, it will feel ackward, the ball won't release the way it's supposed to, but keep practicing, and watch videos about how to shoot, and you'll get it.
sacrifiicing 10 ppg or a ring?? hmm, wow doesn't seem like a big sacrifice at all! Or you rather him being like IVerson..putting up numbers, shining like a beacon and still no one wants you! Its all about the Ring baby! Boston is where he has to say. Both Ray, Pierce, KG, Rondoooo and Perkins!!
