Yes, you cover the camera while you turn your glasses on and when you hit record and because the LED is covered, it will compare the light as being equal. And when you remove your finger from the camera it will continue to record because it's no longer comparing. It's just during startup. It'll be much more difficult for them to do it while recording because video recording goes from zero light to infinite light. So this trick has been working for me since I bought mine months ago. I figured it out on my own, but it's interesting to see that somebody else put a video up about it took apart my sunglass version of these and replaced the LED with an infrared LED so it still thinks it has and LED. It's just that nobody can see the LED because it's in the infrared spectrum. That was very difficult and did leave a little bit of damage after done, but the LED is easy to get out. The camera itself is the most impossible to get out
@@TheTurbinator That would be a pretty touch process, but definitely worth it. Now, if you can only record one minute at a time, it's still not worth it. If you're trying to record something bad, you may need several minutes. If you're recording something like someone being violent or a cop acting out of line, one minute is certainly not enough time.
You need firmware that deactivates it or a solution for dismantling the pair to remove the sensor, see a sticker that only lets light through on one side
You can use an optical fiber guided light sensor. The so-called optical fiber can simply be a piece of fishing line, which can guide the bright light from an LED out to the side of the glasses and also channel ambient light from the side into the system. However, this can sometimes fail in dimly lit indoor environments because the camera photographs a brighter area, while the optical fiber captures the dim ambient light from the side, resulting in too large a discrepancy between the two.
Привееет, Андрей! А ты не пробовал залепить светодиод зеркальной тонировчной пленкой, например 15%? Свет будет попадать на датчик, но снаружи он будет отражать все вокруг как стелко, лишь незначительно пропуская свечение ЛЕД
Be nice to be able to disable the led… even if it reads the ambient light to let it record but not power the white led once recording, only the light sensor.
there's a couple videos to show you how basically you pulled down on the bottom of the frame very hard . The bottom of the lens comes out first. it's pretty scary.
I bought this becouse there ware people harassing me . Unfortunately I realize I can’t use this glass to record them and go to the police. 😢 that was the whole purpose I bought it
You do not have to request permission or inform them of recording to record people when in public property in the US. But yeah- this light is lame, and I have lost capability because a little speck of dirt got on the lens during a bike ride. Couldn’t record the entire downhill. Glasses could be better if Meta did not force failure with the lens slightly dirty. In low light it doesn’t work also.
On 6.0. Seems I’m able to still do it using finger, but for some reason, using LED blocking tape is getting blocked. And keeping my finger there the whole time ain’t it. Thoughts?
I think it might be that the light filtered through my finger doesn’t match that of the led blocking tape. So either need to use tape that will filter equal to my finger, or use the same led blocking tape for that second over the camera.
Because people lie or are lost in their own delusions that they said this and that. Then you can bring it up during dinner and say "well you actually said this.." Does that make sense?
it works. it depends on your light environment. if it very sunny, your finger will skip through light. you need to short cover with something witch don't let light thought. you need to experiment to understand how it works.
specially for you recorded one more video. This all works. you need to understand this trick to use it in all conditions ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YikI0cn83es.html
@frazefrazenko in that case get a body cam, I can't imagine you only trying to capture 30 seconds of that. These glasses have a privacy setting for a reason. This is just not the product for that.
@@Videobooks4Kids Mine are prescription glasses with no tint and hidden cameras I agree with your but it would be easier to record unnoticed with these then a phone. Plus name a legitimate and legal use case that you would need to deactivate notification features for? I use mine for food blogging, cooking and action shots (motorcycle, bike, roadster etc etc) in not one instance in now probably 100+ pics and vids did I ever say “gee I wish people didn’t know I was recording so I could record illegally in a movie theater or live show or get up on some creepy sht in a way people wouldn’t want to give permission”
You've named all the negative ones. Guess you never ran into a co-worker accusing you wrongfully or a family member claiming they said this but actually didn't. 🤔 You can use that for good and for protection. Yes it's weird to have in a locker room and so forth! But it can be used for the greater good!
This video sucks because the status led is there for a reason. If you feel the need to block this, you probably do something you should not. I‘ll forward this to the Devs. Maybe they can fix it. Thanks for the heads up.
Developer never fix this. This is law. In some countries if you are filming without showing it, then it is spy gadget and you can get to jail if you are not spy. This is reason why there is LED light and developers will never remove this feature.

@@AndrejsZavadskis I am talking about fixing the workaround 😉
Ray Ban thinks the world should know what I'm doing with my camera. It lets the public know every time I switch it on. No other camera in the world does this other than stage cameras which let you know which is on so you can turn toward them. Only RayBan puts the needs of others ahead of the needs of it's owner. Ray Ban has woke optics that work against you not for you.
I think everybody is afraid of what other people would say if they saw the light on your glasses. What do you do? Declare war on yourself. Record everybody and anybody. Record all the time. Put yourself in such risky conditions. What you'll find out is that nobody says anything even if they saw the light. What are they going to do? Nothing. It's not illegal to record video out in public. You're not doing anything wrong. It is your right to record video if you feel like doing so...
It can be used for my safety. They will think twice before they shoot me because they will see that they are being recorded by the light @@AndrejsZavadskis
