@@MKISports Yeah, I agree. Just like on the Lakers too, they also changed the organ and it doesn't sounds right after all. Both team's organ really grew on me watching the NBA.
For those of you who are curious about the previous organ, it wasn't a true organ but a Kurzweil electronic keyboard. According to an article I read from 2017, the new organ (featured in this video) is a Roland AT-900. Personally, I like the Kurzweil keyboard more. It had a much more powerful, punchier sound than the new organ, but I also understand that a real organ brings a more authentic, vintage sound. Thank you so much for this video i am a die hard knicks fan and a fan of organ music and you going to the infamous Madison square garden just for knicks organ action from ray castoldi is just something ive been waiting for to get posted on RU-vid for so long most people use the crappy knicks organ sounds from 2k LETS GO KNICKS🔷🔶🔷🔶🔷🔶💪💪💪💪💪🏀🏀🏀
Hey sorry I didn’t see this till now, thank you for your kind words! Ray Castoldi’s work is truly tremendous, and when’s this pandemic is over, I intend to visit the garden again for more organ action! And I’ve seen your videos too, I listen to them all the time! Keep up the work yourself! :)
I absolutely love the Knicks continued USE of the organ. The new organ, however, has not, and never will grow on me. I still feel that the the best NY organ period was between 1990-2000, primarily in the prime Patrick Ewing years. Best sound ever, hands down. Why did they change?
After I talked with the Islanders organist, he told me that the garden was under new management and like new members of an organization, they want change. So they felt that adding an actual organ than a keyboard synth organ would be a better fit and add authenticity to the events. Yes I agree the original sound is the best, Castoldi even used it for the Mets and the sounds change the atmosphere of the game as a whole and makes it more exciting
Gotcha- I guess I feel better after having received an explanation…You know this is a world where people just change stuff for no justifiable reason. I will admit that the new organ carries a sweet baseline that packs a nice punch.
@@rawuncut6684Yeah the real organ is classic and authentic and puts a stamp on this new chapter of the Knicks with Thibs and Brunson. But it’s a crime that we can’t hear the intense sound of the synth organ from the Jordan and Ewing era anymore. It would be best if they could keep the keyboard and Ray could play that on select possessions. The nostalgia would be amazing.😊
@@jaymum23fun fact the organ ray uses is a roland at900 and it has every sound u can think of and the dj for the knicks told me that ray added the old organ sound into his roland for the ist games
The last time I came Madison Square garden the Knicks were playing the Pacers and they almost won but they failed by 103-104 I think I'm not sure but as soon as I got there we sat so close to the sideline in third row behind the players from the Pacers while Pregame was happening but as soon as I walked on the Knicks Basketball court am like Whoah is this really happening so we recorded on Camera waving with our Hands I during Timeout it was shown on the Scoreboard on the Screen

MattsMets have you seen rays Twitter posts of his organ playing a couple hours ago he posted a tweet of him playing the lets go rangers chant on the organ
I like the new organ but i was watching the knicks bulls rivalry from the 90s and my god the organ back then sounded phenomenal, and when ray played some songs in a synthesizer version especially the DEFENSE clap clap it sounded terrific
