00:22 so everybody's been talking about the passing of the violin and the comedic effect at the end but I'm thinking WOW THE ORCH IS SO AMAZING FOR FOLLOWING RAY'S CUE THERE TO MOVE BACK A COUPLE OF MEASURES SO HE CAN SWAP VIOLINS AND STILL MAKE IT TO THE ENTRY OF THE NEXT PHRASE man, if I were there, and then he suddenly moved back I would be so lost HAHAHAHHAHA also, another one: as soon as he gets the new violin he plays as if he wants to break the string again HAHAHHAHAHA (I'm not saying this as mockery, it's actually very hard to play that well. As expected of a world class violinist)

0:49, Ray reaches into his pocket for a spare E string... I wonder how many soloists have spare E-strings in their jacket pocket...it almost feels like a stunt, like you know the string is rusty and you're expecting it to break haha. I wonder how standard it is though. Someone backstage asking if the conductor has their scores and baton, the violinist if they have their spare E string, the brass if they have their spare reeds etc. Perhaps I've seen Itzhak Perlman play and he had a spare E string in his jacket pocket, but he didn't break it therefore didn't need to use it..... now my mind boggles! And then, if so: why is Ray always breaking E strings? It happened to Midori too of course - famously: twice in the same hour on stage.
