I was about to undergo heart surgery when a nurse asked, " Who is your favorite artist? I said Ray LaMontane. A few minutes later, a song was blaring through overhead speakers. As I was being prepped, the outcome of the surgery was unclear so I enjoyed Ray's music one more time as it were my last. It wasn't and I'm a fan for life.

This was my wedding song. We both had been through alot and it fit. A few weeks after getting married my husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He lived 7 months. Its been 3 years and have just been able to listen to this song.

I listened to this album while driving late one summers night between Charleston, SC and Savanna, GA....all alone, on my own schedule, with the windows down and Ray’s voice on full volume. It was an utterly intoxicating experience.

We loved each other but could never be together. He sent this song to me. I cried and cried. That was several years ago. Now the song is a warm but bittersweet memory. I still care for him so much. I miss him. I hope he is doing well

My husband is in the, U.S Air Force, in Damascus. He sends me a song every night. Last, it was this one. Of course I wept...he's so far away. 😢 I miss him so, so much.

I discovered him this morning while having my coffee before work . I have a big surgery in the morning I’ve been feeling very stressed about, so my boyfriend and I had a nice dinner together and then decided to enjoy some music and fresh country air on the front porch after the sun went down… We’re always sharing new music with one another and I mentioned discovering this artist earlier today…He knew him right away, put this song on, got up from his chair, walked over to me and reached out his hand… We danced together like a couple of teenagers … I can’t remember the last time I felt that loved 🥰

Felt the Lord bring this song to rememvrance while praying. Like He was saying, "Let it be Me." I am your Friend when all else fails and when you don't know what to do.

Jesus Christ was that a friend that I needed when I couldn’t go on my own any longer 🙏

My 75 yr old platonic friend, Mr. Hap, played this song for me when I was wound up. It still calms me down. He died of cancer a year ago. Bernard Baston was real gentleman. They don't make them like that anymore. I truly felt understood. I like to think I understood him too. That's how it goes with friends: let it be me. 🥰

I miss you mom. I can’t remember how many times I heard you blasting this song. It has a whole new feeling now that you’re gone. It’s been a few days over three months now but it feels like I just got the call. I love you so much. I never thought you would be gone so soon. 24 years with you wasn’t enough but I’m happy you’re out of pain. I would give anything to be able to call you once more and talk about all the things we were going to do this summer. I go back to college on Saturday and it’s killing me to know I can’t just call you or FaceTime with you anymore.

I listened to this nonstop after the earthquake in Haiti in 2010. My best friend was in the UN building when I collapsed. For 17 days we hoped against hope that we’d find him. One of the worst days of my life when we discovered he didn’t make it. This song still makes me weep but I’ll always be grateful for my dear friend and everything we shared. 😢

My mom used to sing this when I was a little girl, I assume she sang it referring to my daddy. He was killed in a car accident in '62, I lost mom to covid in 8/2021, still shocking to my psyche. Something about his music takes me back to being a child. riding through the mountains thinking every little thing I saw was as mighty as they are, as I could be sometimes. every laugh from my siblings was pure joy just like every new discovery and glimpse I got.
