"Football's supposed to hurt" really captures his mentality. From the interviews i've seen he somehow wired his brain to love pain and work because it meant growth and prosperity. Phenomenal.
He grew up watching his mom get beat up n started working out as a kid everyday angry af until he could beat up the guy that was hitting his mom . Then he used that intense strength n power growing up n put it into football so yeah he was built for that
Arguably, the BEST leader in ALL of sports. Ray Lewis is one of the main reasons I'm a DIE HARD Ravens fan. He can motivate a person beyond even their own imagination football related & in LIFE. Period.
I root for the Ravens and even own a Ray Lewis jersey just because they are the definition of a football team. Those defensive players that have all been drafted by the TEAM are amazing. I mean, you could load a HOF caliber defense just from the Ravens all-time roster. Now, offense is a different story. But that's why it's a TEAM SPORT. DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.
I'm a cowboys fan bro but everyone knows that that defense was damn near unstoppable and unmovable . Baltimore Ravens defense was literally a three-headed dragon
@@jkkennedy8919 facts when it comes to our football team nothing or no body can get in the middle of our ways. Baltimore is filled with die hard fans. Ray Lewis will always be that figure and legend for Baltimore even to football fans around the country, but when mentioning Ray you can’t forget about Reed. One of the best Defensive Duos to even play the game.
@@jkkennedy8919 it don’t matter what team someone is a fan of everyone respects what those two did not just for Baltimore but for the whole sport, especially with Lewis not just with football but the way he’s able to motivate anyone once he starts with his motivation speeches it’s a wrap lol
Whether you loved him or hated him, everybody knew that if your team was playing Baltimore on Sunday, 52 was going to be a problem. Ray Ray played with so much emotion and ferociousness that it was like watching a modern day gladiator fight for his life. I have nothing but respect for Ray Lewis. A true champion that he paid the price for through disciple and hard work.
Ed Reed might be the best safety ever to play the game.... I loved watching those 2 play together. Because you always knew the game could flip In a second. 2 GOATS on the same team. At the SAME TIME. In the PRIME of their careers.
As a diehard STEELERS Fan. I have always respected this man’s game. He played at a level that has been unmatched for quite some time. It was a pleasure to watch him play… You can’t deny GREATNESS…
when it cut to him stretching and the energy got REAL relaxed 😂 There will never be another Ray Lewis. What a dog. Him and LT should start a podcast called "Peekaboo".
I'm from the UK ray got me into the nfl what a beast the only player I thought would do well in rugby too his tackling is different level. So precise and powerful
This will forever be my favorite team 🗣🐐🔥🔥🔥 This Defensive was LIT !!! There defense was the offense . I can’t even remember another defense this Dominant
At Miami he had to practice the rain and high humidity. The had no indoor facility that's central and south Florida. You grow up having to practice in the rain and no matters the temperature because you'd never be a practice!
I’m a ravens fan, and even then I probably think LT made more of an impact then Ray. New formations and schemes were designed to help stop LT.. didn’t help much. Though no doubt Ray can be debated as best LB ever
@@codypistole2619 IQ: LT slept in position meetings. When called out by the coach he would look at the offensive formation, politely shut the coach up by explaining the defensive responsibilities and go back to sleep.
@@bigghoww to be fair LT never had to go against the tom bradys or peyton mannings when you out audible peyton manning and he has to call a timeout that is football iq in a defensive player that can't be matched LT is a goat though no doubt
Absolutely my favorite football player. I loved watching him and Junior Seau. The 2 best middle linebackers I have ever seen. Just LOVED THE GAME. and it was evident every single game.
He's only 47, I hope he gets into coaching. Not sure where he resides, but "The U" (alma mater) or any college team would love to have him as a coach/coordinator, and he'd be in the NFL as a coach/coordinator quick... if he wanted. He's known for his energy/physicality, but his "football IQ" is insanely high as well.
0:47 when he says, 'yall though you were getting out easy". I love the slight smirk the ref gives. Even hes like, "fuck yeah Ray, talk your shit". Its a reminder that some refs do actually love the game.
Playing with him on my team was amazing. We made quick work of all the teams for the championship. He always had the most power on the field/screen. Madden 😂
the total package. absolutely the total package and perfect football player. He has an ABSOLUTE Brilliant Mind. He could hit harder than anyone. He had everyone’s respect. he was the leader without question he hyped everyone. he never ever quit. One of the greatest ever!
once of best ever at what he does, hes the one you want on your team and the one you dont want to face. As a ninner fan, who took a loss, much respect to lewis.
1:23 Brian Billick standing there watching Ray Lewis enter the field, you can see he is in awe of a once in a lifetime player. And then he says, "How do I follow that?" Had me dying!!
Man… this dude was a legend. I really didnt become a ravens fan until the that super bowl run. I was 12 years old then… CMON LAMAR LETS RIDE AGAIN HELL YEAH
