This man is truly a big part of who I am today. Growing up with no father, I always looked up to him and used his words as guidance. Thank you for everything Ray and I will miss watching you play.
Greatest sports speech I have ever heard. And it came after a loss. We usually associate the great speeches with winning. The Lombardi speeches before wins. THIS speech is about more than football. It is about how you carry yourself as a man and that is what defines you.
There are the great players who inspired people to work hard and then there is ray Lewis who inspires you to be a great person and a great leader. I never thought I'd watch NFL without him gonna be weird and he will be missed thank u ray.
People deserve a 2nd Chance! It´s what about you are TODAY! And what u have learned from ur past & mistakes in the past. And what Ray Lewis does and stands for TODAY...is just damn Awesome and Inspiring. And thats why he is a GREAT man, a GREAT human being...#MuchRespect
Out of all the Ray Lewis videos out there, I always appreciate this one the most ... People see Ray Lewis as so serious and intense during games and whatnot and may think he's doing all that for HIMSELF , but it's the opposite ... He's not just one of the greatest athletes to ever play, but his true understanding of life and his precedent of "giving everything he's got" is truly special
I wake up to this and listen to it multiple times every day... 2 dead brothers at 24 yrs old because of addiction and fear; I just spoke at the funeral and helped some people see things differently.. I showed this video to the most recent mother and it helps me explain how I feel. I hold it close to my heart and wear it on my sleeve. Thank you and thank God for Ray.
"Don't ever drop your head when it comes to a loss." My Dad raised us the same way. My philosophy is that you should be way too tired to cry. No tears left to shed because you sweat it all out giving your heart. And that's in ANYTHING in life. Too many people out there who can benefit from our losses not because they like to see us lose. But because they know they aren't alone when they do.
God bless you man of God I can truly identify where you are coming from. And I thank God that you take the time not, only to acknowledge him but to take time from your passion to be passionate about people and lives. Thank you God for this awesome man you have created.
It does not matter how you speak , it is what you speak. The NFL was just the beginning. His off the field calling has positively influenced more people in more ways than you will ever be able to realize. God calls certain people in certain walks of life to certain people , because God knows what they have been through. God sends people to certain places , and certain types , so that they may also relate and come to know God. As a die hard Chiefs fan , God bless Ray Lewis.
This man is the reason why the Ravens are a championship caliber team. We have a lot of great, talented people on the Ravens, but he is the heart and soul of the team. I think when he retires, I will remember him more as a leader than a great football player. A standup man, and a true leader.
God has a special anointing on some people and Lord know Ray lewis is one of those people he has the favor of God.. Football yes it is just a game but it is his profession and for him to be able to put it aside after a loss like that and speak his heart on a young man Lord Bless him and his family God is an awesome God. His off the field work is just a blessing for any man woman boy or girl.. God Bless
there are boys and then there are men in the NFL. the boys want to be the MVPs and make the money and be the greatest. then theres the men who love the game and love and care for others and put fans and family in front of them and ray lewis is one of the biggest men in SPORTS .
I want this man in national politics! Period. He is not in the military so he can't be a general in that way... but there has to be a way in a larger sense for him to lead!
I gotta agree with Stephen A Smith, the greatest leader in sports is Ray Lewis. Possibly the greatest leader in the world. Much respect to this man, he is truely a leader of men
I'm not denying that he played a part in that murder, all I know is that he wasn't convicted--but that still doesn't mean that he didn't do anything. All I know is that after that night, Ray Lewis became a vastly different and changed man. He became a man and servant of God, and has strived to make a positive difference in the lives of all the people in his life. And speaking as a football fan, a Ravens fan, and someone who has met Lewis, he has definitely done that.
