Properly focused, and trained, yes. But that's the million dollar problem isn't it? Mercer followed in the unmotivated footsteps of guys like Tim Witherspoon.

Very interesting interview. He is right on about the Army having top notch boxers at the time (1980s) . Several went on to be successful pros.

back in the late 80's our trainer on Fridays would have all of us in the gym get in the ring with just 1 glove on and just let us have a free for all!.. lmao about 12 of us in the ring..
