In part it was because “Escapism” registered on the US charts AFTER (or only shortly before) the cutoff. But this highlights a problem: the Grammy’s usually ignore foreign artists’ releases unless the chart in US market. No matter how brilliant. This was an issue I think was also evidenced in 2001, when I believe that “Can’t Get You Outta My Head” impacted the US after it was too late for its Grammy chances. Had they been paying attention to other music markets, they would have nominated it. It’s also the reason Jessie Ware’s entire body of work has been snubbed and Kylie Minogue went fifteen years between nominations (until the Padam-ic of last year).

It’s truly great aswell I don’t think people realise because their use to be male and female categories and now they’ve been merged together loads of people are nominated and good magic sometimes miss out in these awards and there’s a slimmer chance of winning

But when she started singing i was baffled by her voice and her stage presence. She's such an amazing artist and I've been in love with her music ever since

Honestly, Grammys is all about the awards and clout, but the Brit awards seem to care a lot more about the art and artists

The Grammy’s have to cater to conservatives and pearl clutchers. Adele is acceptable for them because she fits a genre they can play on radio.

On Raye's official website you can download her Royal Albert Hall performance (audio) with orchestra, choir & band - it's mainly a re-imagining of 21st Century Blues, but I think Prada was included. Or there's a RU-vid video from UK 02 Arena with orchestra, choir & band with a longer version of Prada (and I was there!)

soz but all of those are very mainstream type of music. Ed sheeran had a different style, but his newest albums have been very lame in comparison to his more creative, first albums.
