I'm getting ready to rewatch the series again for the first time since it's initial airing. It's one of those rare times that I can be thankful for my crappy memory. It'll be almost like seeing it for the first time again.

He did though, if you see the rest of the scene, once Raylan puts him back in the car he racks the slide and a shell ejects. Just a subtle dig at how dumb Dewey was and easy to manipulate. Raylan ran that line with supreme confidence and it was enough to make Dewey blink

The appeal of Raylans character was always that he was of the same streets as the thugs he regularly came up against. So he was a pretty spot on judge of character when it came to these street level criminals...something he leveraged to his advantage quite often (like here, with Dewey). Raylan, in another life, could easily have been running with these gangsters, but his disdain for his father (another small time crook) led him into law enforcement almost out of pure spite. It made for a very interesting law man

I've liked him in just about any and everything he's ever been in..saw him as a bald hit man , in a movie once, who had very little dialogue . And he was still great 👍 lol..would really love to see him , in a full fledged big budget western. In either one of two roles.. the Marshall of a boomtown, and a gang of outlaws and no accounts, are coming...the majority of men in the town ( mostly cowards , ofc ) abandon him and the town, taking family with them... think , shades of " High Noon " , if you will.. that role, or the head of the said gang of outlaws !!! Lol😊😊

Boyd crowder was way better of a character than Walter white.

In fiction, the author of the work conspires with the audience to suspend the window of disbelief. They invite us into an imaginary garden with real toads. It is irrelevant if you are impressed, or how condescending you are. We want writers, producers, and directors to help us suspend the window of disbelief. We want to enjoy the material. However, people with experience in a field have the window of disbelief slam down and the toad disappears. Our pleasure and happiness are gone due to poor execution. You may not see the difference, but we groan and are sad to have been distracted away from the story. We think about the Gell-Mann effect, and wonder what other mistake there are. Enough of these, and we lose interest or even hate-watch to catalog the number and type of errors. We just wanted to be distracted with masterful storytelling.

@@earthling123 Dewey Crowe’s family family are unsuccessful criminals who try playing above their level, they drag Dewey down with them, and get themselves pretty much wiped out. Dewey’s end is when Boyd Crowder - a clever successful criminal - apart from getting caught a few times - decides he can no longer trust Dewey to keep a secret that could end him and reluctantly shoots Dewey in the head when Dewey comes to him for help

​@@earthling123 The Crowes were a criminal family in Eastern Kentucky and Florida. A lot of them were very bad people. Dewey was dumb and always trying to get ahead, which made him easily used. Eventually, his luck ran out.
