I’m leaning Ford but two things give me pause. The weight cut which Iv heard ford admit kills him and is planning to move up. Also his last fight possibly could have taken something out of him physically and/or emotionally. Was a real grueling contest. With that all said, I think it’s a distance fight that ford will win a close decision.
Nick Ball by deadly TKO late rounds, he will possess the stamina and outlasting pressure to finish ford once he is tired in the late rounds, unlike Otabek gassing out in the 12th round and fumbling the bag abandoning clinching FOR 7 SECONDS LEFT IN THE CLOCK OF ROUND 12. Expect Nick ball to use feints, level changes, combos at mid range, bodyshot hooks/uppercuts to obtain the WBA 126 title.
Very tough fight... I think Ford will use his reach and his last fight showed he has enough grit and willpower to brawl it out need be. I think ford should edge it! Competitive fight !
I personally thought that Ball beat Vargas in his last fight. However, against a talented boxer like Ford, I don't think he has much of a chance. And to be honest, a good Ref would have deducted points for Ball's dirty tactics, so hopefully, the upcoming fight will have a good Ref.
Nick shouldn't try dirty tactics on Ford. If Ford gets angry mid fight then Ball is going to sleep lol. Nick Ball should just be relentless with his pressure. And since Ray isn't an early starter & he might be having a bad weight cut, maybe Nick Ball can win on points.
