Pete Fairbanks is a natural. He could genuinely be an actor. I know he was serious, but it was as if it were written by a script writer and delivered by an actor. Great stuff! o

Is maybe that the Angels think the A's might change their name to the California A's? So they're trying to beat them to it because everyone (probably even outside of SoCal) know that the Angels don't play in LA and aren't particularly liked by Los Angeles.

Nothing credible online about it. Either Rich knows something or he was making reference to the many years of postseason irrelevance as the California Angels. Of course, the "LA" Angels have been even worse from a franchise standpoint so this take seema unlikely

Kingman has hit a few that still haven't landed. The one he hit in Chicago in 79 that ball was absolutely destroyed. Some say it went 550 and if you measure where it landed and there is video of it. It might have traveled even further. Kingman hit another one in Chicago that some say went 600 feet.

I'm still glad that I avoided Fairbanks but he has now become someone that realistic people have a fondness for. Be a man and take responsibility and get over it so you can get started for whatever is next.

Soundbite of the Year has to be usable in any situation. I can't see this one getting the play like, say, "Never say never, but never." or "Playoffs??" Prove me wrong. Show me how I can use this one in everyday conversation.
