If we get consistent production from guys like Biggio, Kirk, Varsho and Chapman we can win the championship, we don't even need Vladdy to do that great, but I'm sure he will step up his game too. Our offense will be deep enough with these guys, Bichette and Belt. Also Biggio is already proving to be a fairly consistent player, which is amazing. That consistency is what wins you games

@@johny.6134 my profession is fencing coach and we have the same thing in sabre and foil. I understand your point of view because I see it in those disciplines but I think the ability of the catcher - or fencer - to impose on the credulity of the umpire or referee is trivial compared to rewarding the skill of the players. The officials are a necessary evil. In particular, I don't want to have to teach youngsters that presuming on ignorance or vanity counts as much as real ability and skill.

@HiroiSekai
@HiroiSekai 11 месяцев назад
@@sparknessisspreading1758 Astros loss alone won't do it, they have a chance to hit the tiebreaker for the AL West division and their tiebreaker with Toronto won't matter. Astros would beat out the Rangers in a tiebreaker if they keep winning and the Rangers keep losing. Should the Mariners sweep and the Astros win one more game, there could be a 3-way AL West tie. Astros would knock the Royals down, but the Mariners would knock the Astros down. Lots of scenarios where tiebreakers could knock the Jays out. They need to bolt down one more win and not mess with that chance, low as it is. Seattle is the big factor. They HAVE to sweep to stay in it. If they even lose one more time, they will not have enough potential wins left to tie the Jays or Texas (at the moment). Toronto winning nets their own safety, but the Mariners could still cause AL West havoc by sweeping then. Jays need to control their own destiny and just win. Forget about who or where you'll play, just get in. Mess around, find out by sitting on the couch in October.
