Just upgraded from a cheap 15-30 dollar keyboard to this. Gotta say for 80$ its pretty cool, my first mechanical keyboard. I love the synapse lighting especially with terraria if you know what it is. The only complaint is the stabilizers and the space bar sound horrible but its still better than my previous keybaord
It’s very interesting that the foreign boards are as different as they are. In the States and Europe, the key caps are double shot ABS while yours has lasered ABS key caps. That one change on its own makes the keyboard feel much nicer. They also have the clear switch housing that the full-size board has but from what I understand, this is a recent change because they no longer make the black switch housings. I’ve actually fully dismantled a V3 and a V3 TKL and impressively the TKL is actually better built, at least in my opinion. My full-size V3 had suffered water damage so I wanted to see if I might be able to switch the cable over to a braided one and sure enough they use the same connector and even the same retention bracket inside of the case. The main reason why this frustrates me is that they had to go out of their way to make the tooling for the rubber cable when they already were making the braided one that would fit with no alterations to the case. The main reason why I think the TKL is better built is because there’s far less wasted space on the inside of the board, which almost entirely gets rid of the ping noise. The full size on the other hand has horrid ping and it’s very obvious since both of my boards have the new dampened Yellow switches. The TKL with the Yellows actually sounds about the best I’ve heard from a gaming brand and I think if you did a blind sound test where people couldn’t see what you were using to type on, they’d be shocked it was a Razer board. After switching the cable to a braided one, I can easily say that on its own and makes it feel more premium. I feel at 100 bucks for the current package, it’s too budget. I can live without the media keys since I use an external DAC for my computer anyway, but the rubber cable on its own makes the board look cheap. If they could make the board come with a braided cable and add the sub legends to the better double shot ABS key caps that mine came with, I feel it would be a much better package for the spend.
Hey would you happen to have tried the Razer Huntsman v2 TKL? I know the price difference should be enough to tell me but which one is better but In terms of pinging, feel and sound? Also which one do you think is worth more for the price they're at. I'm looking at the Blackwidow v3 Pro too but I don't know too much about it so just a 1. 2. 3. Listing would help a lot
i love this keyboard I got it for 20 bucks less and all the downsides for me really arent downsides also i have the basilisk x hyperspeed too. great mouse too
Hey full V3 owner here Yeah I was considering of buying the TKL instead but ended up buying the 100% Braided cable, wristrest, lightup razer logo, Numpad and media keys etc I personally would also recommend the V3 100%. Am typing this with the V3.
I personally have no problems with razer synapse 3 but idk how others experience this. Also coming from a razer synosa i now got the blackwodow v3 tkl and its perfect so far only thing is the green switches are very very loud you cant really hear this in any video. so if you hate this get the yellow ones.
I was feeling the same that somehow Razer advertised more stuff than they offer with this board. Anyway I will look for some other options. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the honest review! I was at the shop today and tested a couple of keyboards including the razer ones. I gotta say I'm very disappointed by the >150€ keyboards by the big names - loud, wobbly keys, very disappointing multimedia keys and a few more things. I have no clue what's going on in these companies...maybe most people are satisfied with a lower quality keyboard for a higher price just because it's a mechanical and clicky and looks good or something, or it's not possible to manufacture a higher quality (not true).
Great review- you also speak incredibly well! I think practicing your script instead of reading would do great for you! You deserve to have more subs- very well done =)
I got this on sale ($60). I just need a fast, responsive and reasonably priced keyboard for gaming. The lights, cables and all.. don't matter a whole lot to me. Works for me!
The huntsman v2 tkl is quite a bit better in my opinion so I went with that one, and I did not regret it! Pbt keycaps and the silent red switches really make a difference.
I was just looking at this keyboard on amazon for black Friday and was about to cop it but I just saw your video and thanks so much man! Great content, keep it going!
i love the way you explain things having no boundaries not so ever... i was ready to buy this specific UNTIL I SAW YOUR COMMENTS AND turned 180 degrees .. IS the razer huntsman opto mechanical keyboard A MUCH BETTER OPTION ;
Thank you for your kind words! Will keep doing my best. The huntsman is a very niche keyboard. Very pricey as well so just make sure you will use all of its fancy keys, and functions to make it worth the price tag. Cheers!
I was wondering why no review actually talks about Razers Marketing bullshit. Images on their website clearly show braided cable, logo has a light, and switches have clear housing. Yet every video I see on RU-vid about this keyboard is different than Razers own website images. I want the keyboard from the images and not what they actually sell.
I worked so hard on getting a keyboard review, and the takeaway was I got a great headset mic! LOL! Just kidding. It's the Corsaire Virtuoso wireless. A bit on the pricey end, but it sure is the best headset mic I've ever used. It's even competing with my condenser microphone. Totally worth it!
Thanks for the concern! I thought so as well. But considering I use the TKL and basilisk mouse on my laptop and PC, the problems are consistent. Same goes for the razer keyboards Ive used in the past. However, my razer tarturus works perfectly fine. So perhaps I just lucked out on the manufacturing end. Went on the forums and Im not alone. But Im still happy with it regardless. Thanks again!
I have literally never had an issue with synapse. Ive been using razer products since the naga 2014 edition, so thats what synapse 2.0? Ive never understood peopls complaints tbh, ive never had any issues what so ever with the program. nor have I had issues with physical products either
Wow good for you! Some really get lucky and have no problem with their devices. As for us lesser mortals, we get the tougher end of product line. Ive been in and out of razer for 10 years and I honestly have had issues with some, but perfectly none with others. RNG perhaps.
Im thinking of buying the blackwidow v3 (not tkl) as there are media buttons and the razer logo does light there. Ive heard the wrist rest is complete trash but i don't really mind not using one. I was fairly dissatisfied after buying the Logitech G413 Carbon Keyboard (my spacebar either wont work or act as 2 clicks when i only press it once) that is why i am buying a new one
I would have got the full size but full size don't come on my layout language. How hard is it to for manufacturers to sell layouts as an optional extra????
really? the logo doesnt even light up? I guess you probably get a fail product? cause mine first gen black widow tourment edition (yap, same TKL layout) the logo does light up
Nope, aint a failed product. The logo really doesnt light up on this edition. Ive looked at their demo keyboards in various stores. Also Razer confirmed it. Probably cost cutting to lower the price. Hehehe.
I have a Steelseries Apex 3 TKL and it works great but it doesn't have the amount of RGB customization that razer does. I was playing with I think a fullsize BW V4 and liked the way the RGB worked. I have heard about how loud the keys are with green switches but from what I have heard, its no different than my apex 3. I already bought the BW v3 from amazon for 50 bucks so not a big issue.
The default lightning effect for every razer keyboard I think is spectrum cycling. If ever you can't take advantage of the lighting through Synapse, then I suggest the non-chroma variants. However, without Synapse, you'd still be paying for all those extra functions, and never use them. Functions like lighting effects, macros, hyper shift and many more. You'd be wasting money since you are paying for functions you will never use. So I suggest looking for less sophisticated mechanical keyboards, which are cheaper and saves you money. Hope this helps!
yo bro! i bought this keyboard for 55€ i hope it is worth it and that i will love it! i will keep updated when keyboard arrived it should be come in 2 days.
Honestly I want a 65% keyboard with green switches that is wireless with USB C. But I can't seem to find them anywhere. Anyone know? If not is the green switches removable so I can put them into another keyboard?
I just bought this today for 120 Euros, and after using it for a few hours and watching this review, I have to agree that its overpriced. RAZER logo not glowing is just pure bullshit, also the rubber cable is horrible, and those things that are cut out so you can "manage" cable are just there to eventually cut your cable, I tried putting it on the right side, but I immediately saw cable being damaged in the process so I gave up, pure lazines when it comes down to that, it could have been done much better. Also, the default plastic keycaps are kind of ok for now, not slippery or anything, very well lit, but green switches making this keyboard loud as fuck, probably its 50% louder than I would expect. I am yet to try it out in game, I just hope that it will have good response time. P.S. software is also very moderate, kind of cheap, with potential for so much more, but it barely has any basic functions and its kind of complicated for beginners, I somehow managed to turn off the RGB light on my keyboard, and it took me a while to get them back on. But its TKL, all I needed was more space for my mouse, and this was the best keyboard in the store.
@@KatimaGaming yeah good amount, made some more research yesterday and I'm probably gonns buy the full one version of it so. With the numpad, a mouse rest and yellow switches
Keys are way too sensitive for programming or typing with this keyboard. First thing I noticed was that when you type a word like "The" it would show up as "THe" because it still thinks the shift key is being pressed. Same thing for other keys. "THe quick brownb fox jumped obver the lazy dogg." I'm exaggerating but only slightly so you can see what I mean. My wpm went from 120 to 90. I'm returning the keyboard.
Hello! I just received this keyboard and i have a problem with it... When i press on some keys i can hear an metalic echo in my keyboard and is is soooo annoying. Backspace is the worst... Do you have this problem? Should i send it in service? Will they do something about it?
Hi! Im guessing you are hearing the "ping" sound which is the spring from the switch. Some people cant tolerate the sound and some people dont notice them at all. You could try returning it for store credit, but you should ask razer first. Green switches are the loudest. Below is a link of people having the same issue. Hope this helps! www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/k274sq/it_is_hard_to_hear_but_i_just_got_my_razer/
idk what is wrong with people they're synapse i have 0 problems with it but that could also be that i just use it to hook up everything together and for the rgb i dont use hypershift or different profiles or something i just have 1 dpi setting and my keyboard is just standard nothing programmed
Good for you. Mine is hooked up to all sorts of shortcuts and profiles. So if one day it just starts to act up, it kinda cuts off my working streak. But if you don't need much out of it, then you're safe from the synapse issue. But sad blokes like us however, we just wish for a good day with the app. hehehe
Wet look makes me sexier? Hehehe. Aircon broke down on the day of shooting. And I was kinda on a roll, so I just went with it. I was hoping people wouldn't notice! hehehe. Thank you for your kind words!
I Own Logitech G512 Carbon With GX Blue Clicky Switches and Hyper Alloy Elite Cherry MX Brown Keyboard. Palling To Buy A Ten Key Less Razor Keyboard. Now Got This BlackWidow V3 TKL Yellow Switches For Just 50$ From Amazon India.
sorry for bothering, its currently the equivalent to 65 dollars in my country its it a good deal? if so ill grab the one with the yellow switches cuz i dont wanna make much noise
Hi there !! Is there anyway to fix this keyboard ?! like I'm facing problem double click with this keyboard !! Can you help me with that !! thank you in advance sir
Looks like your switches are broken sorry man. If you are still under warranty, razer will change it to a new one. Otherwise I recommend using WD 40 grease oil and try to loosen the switches and sensors. Good luck!
oh yeah Im still running with a G613 on the side. Logitech and Corsair really are good brands. You are right, they are sweet indeed. Thanks for commenting!
Got the same keyboard for 65$ and it is awesome. Mine has Mute, Volume Up, Volume Down, Back, Play/Pause, Skip and others on it. Fully english too. I think 65$ for it is a pretty good price.
@@KatimaGaming It's not the full one. I does not have the numeric pad. Perhaps it is just a different version than the ones sold overseas? I'm from Europe so... Maybe it is slightly different haha
IT'S best feeling for tyctical feeling i ever tested just for that buy it. no razer logo rgb too much ugly but nothing to do. also but pbt key cap for this keyboard for better feeling for better rgb
Nice review! Great tone! I think you need a AC, i can see you sweat like your working out I am getting the Huntsman V2 TKL Red Linear Optical switches...i hope i get a better experience that your V3 TKL 🤣 Your review warranted a Sub! 👍
Thank you! I only noticed I was sweating my balls off after recording. Was hoping no one would notice! LOL. I would love to get my hands on optical switches someday. Keep us posted on how it works out!
@@KatimaGaming will do! More power! Your good on the Mic Need a better video angle and probably AC Suggestion: if u sweat a lot, wear black while reviewing the item so viewers will not notice a thing.
i ordered it for 70 bucks, i kinda dont need the media keys or the wrist rest, so im hoping the keyboard itself is gonna be good, the only bummer is that the logo doesnt light up, which razer says on twitter that it does...
IKR!? Shame on you razer. But yeah if you got it for 70 then its worth it. Lights and hyperspeed are actually pretty awesome. Hope it meets your expectations. Thank you for commenting!
I hate their synapse program too. So much so, in fact, that I am selling this keyboard so some younger gamer can play around with it. $40. Anyone interested?
