The MAJOR problem I've had with every hard mouse pad I've ever used is that they SHRED your mouse feet after very minimal use. Is glass any different? I've had 3 new sets on my steelseries mouse and a couple sets on my logitech over like a 1 year timeframe. Also the hard pads will get slow spots from wear REALLY fast. Much faster than soft pads. If glass fixes the issue of worn spots on the mouse pad, and gets rid of shredded mouse feet, this might be the perfect pad.

glass pads will shred your feet even faster, but they wont wear fast, tbh they prob wont wear in years, at least thats what we see from skypad for example

Theres some special mouse feet for this exact problem. They are name obsidian something I can't remember quiet well but you can find them easly

X-Raypad - Obsidian were the go-to skate replacements. SkyPad just partnered with X-Raypad to make the new Obsidian PRO U-PE Universal Dot's. They are harder than PTFE and are very very durable. I just got the Padsmith Empress (Superglide-like for control). I have not had a better time using a cloth pad than how I am playing now. Yes, it is a learning curve but to me, glass is 100% worth it with the longevity and better glide IMO. @@Ouzen122

One thing he forgot to say is that this specific glass pad from razer has a coating, which will probably wear out in 12 to 24 months of use. But other glass pads such as the skypad will have no problem as long as you don't scratch them.

thanks for the banana demonstration, this is quite the frequent mishap for me and I have the equivalent for a truckload of bananas in between the fibers of my old mousepad and my life has never been worse, I cannot stand this much suffering therefore I will give a glass pad a try

It really depends from user to user. Some people are more heavy handed and can wear slow spots in normal pads quicker than others. And it also depends if an environment is dusty or unclean it can also wear faster. Lighty washing the pad can also be great if it's built up a lot of gunk in it.

It will grind down any PTFE feet within weeks, you're lucky if it goes up for months. Also my favorite lethal glass pads just won't work :)

Have been using Roccat Alumic for YEARS....I have always loved hard-surface mousing. But this one is about to die, and I can't get them anymore. Glass just seems a logical leap. And I won't have to worry about a stick-on surface wearing out anymore.

Glass is harder than PTFE and would ruin your mousepad that's why in reverse glass is much more durable and will outlast any PTFE skates for multiple rotations.
