RAZER WOLVERINE V2 Review! WATCH THIS BEFORE YOU BUY IT! *TRUST ME* 

Maybe I’m old school but the non removable wire is a huge plus for me 😂. I just don’t see the point in a wired only controller that the wire can be removed from the controller making it useless. Any other good rugged controllers with a permanently attached wire?

Daaamn mans was quick to it! I heard about this thing on the 19th and Immediately started doing research for a video and man am I disappointed. The thing that irritates me most is that the TE is $10 more on amazon, like what 😂 Razer released a controller in 2011, 13, 15, and 17. So they took 3 years to follow up the wolverines, and this is what we got smh

I love that the cable is non-removeable because the #1 thing that breaks on these controllers (or anything that has it, really) is the micro USB port. Those things are made out of paper it feels like

The PowerA enhanced controller has two remappable buttons on the back and it’s only $25. Plus a removable power cord. If you want adjustable triggers, they add that on the Spectra for about $40. I’m assuming the build quality on this Wolverine must be really good, but I can’t see $100 at all.

I still like my tournament edition, disappointing the v2 looks like less features for some reason.

I usually never use the sticks in the back I'm not much of a shooter but being able to have those bumpers being a lot quicker the controller being comfortable the buttons being responsive I think it's a good controller for a certain crowd

I bought one as Fed-Ex managed to lose my Tournament Edition I had ordered from Razer. Got this V2 from Amazon and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Having played with a Elite Series 2 since it's launch I expected to miss the back paddles ( I used 2). With the V2 I remapped my top buttons to match those on my Elite and it took about an hour for me to feel comfortable with their placement. The controller is incredibly comfortable in hand and I like everything about it. If Razer made this controller with the back paddles from the Tournament Edition and a removable cable it would be perfect. I love it's shape and how it feels in hand.

Anyone notice that when you pull a trigger while holding down the bumper (on the same side of trigger), they kind of grind against each other? Sometimes it feels like the bumper is going to snap off! I've never tried the Tournament or Ultimate models so I wonder if this issue is there as well...

Thank you. My powerA finally broke so looking to invest in a higher quality controller. Im not surprised Razer is a let down, i remember a long time ago I tried their Sabretooth 360 controller and it broke in a month. and they didnt honor their warranty.

I have a fusion pro, a wolverine v2 and a powerA spectra. The fusion, while a good controller, gets grubby quick. Left stick also developed problems with foward movement after just a few month. The wolverine v2 went straight back in its box. While it initially feels good, the two extra buttons are pretty much useless. The back and start buttons are also in an awkward place. Not good for games like pubg. The powerA, especially for the low price, is brilliant. Has two extra buttons underneath, nice leds and the build quality is,imo, better than the standard xbox controller. If you don't want to spend much money, you can't go wrong with a powerA.

100% agree with your review. The second i saw there was no back buttons. I said it is a no buy. I don't like the buttons by the triggers. It just doesn't make sense for that format. I don't see the comfort or ease in using those buttons. I will stick with my Power A controller. it was just $80, and I love it.

Great review, sad to see a Razer product flop but it happens. If you don't mind a bit of constructive criticism, I think that omitting the facecam from the top right corner of the screen would be a good idea when you're doing the hands-on shots of the product to make it easier to see. Keep the facecam for everywhere else of course, I just think it would help keep a better view of the product. The graphics and structure in the vid were really great though, very professional. I especially liked how you didn't rush through the sound test on the buttons, you did every button plenty of times to give people a good feel for the sound. Small detail, but lots of tech reviewers tend to glance over it in my experience. Great video

all i really want in a controller is trigger stoppers and a good warranty so i can return it when it breaks in 2 months. havent found a single controller on ther market that doesnt break after minor use. is this worth trying?

I just picked this controller up for $60 and I must say I’m really like this controller, in my opinion it’s way better than an Xbox controller.

The problem is, my stock Series X controller crapped out on me 3 months in! An almost unplayable amount of stick drift! If the app for this thing let's me adjust my own dead zones, sign me up please! I would never use back buttons/paddles anyway. Throw kontrol freeks on this thing and you're done. Aside from not being wireless, my only gripe is the D-pad not being webbed like the series D-pad. fyi, some of us like the idea of a 360 controller version of the original Duke controller crossed over with a Series controller. Make it wireless, make the D-pad webbed, slap kontrol freeks on it and I'd be in heaven.

the only reasons i bought the controller is because. its really affordable,no rgb's,no back paddles and its a good controller. (and im using it for pc)

I was looking for a good gaming controller for my laptop and this was on sale for $40 USD (Cybermonday ) so I checked out some quick reviews and looked at some other controllers before pulling the trigger on this since it was so cheap that day. What really needs to be mentioned in every review from testers or people that have bought this, is that the damn BRIGHT white light under the XBOX button can NOT be turned off....If you want to game in the dark or in dim lighting this will mess up your vision. Time to find my electical tape to cover the light.

I’m so bummed man. I had two elite series 2 controllers, and had the same issue with them less than 6 months of owning them (bumpers would double click) so I made the switch to Razer Wolverine Ultimate, and I loved it. It definitely improved my fortnite mechanics but in terms of build quality it is lacking. I’m about to go on my third Ultimate and I haven’t even owned either for longer than 3 months. If they really just nailed the durability on these controllers, Razer would be hands down the best among Xbox pro controllers

Which Kontrol Freeks did you use on your Wolverine TE? I just got one and want to make sure I get the ones that fit these wider thumbstixks...

I play claw and I was going to buy a regular Xbox controller. I kind of wanted to buy this for the really nice ABXY buttons. The main con for me is that it isn't wireless but I'm not sure how bad that will be for me. Should I buy this or a standard controller?

Ive had the first edition for 3 years now and can not even imagine me buying a controller without the buttons under the controller.

I didn't know this came out, I have the wolverine ultimate and was pumped there is an updated version. Too bad it doesn't have 4 buttons on the back that I need. Basically a standard controller.

i like this video might also help looking at it through the other perspective, someone that is looking for a new wired controller and not wireless? i like the lack of the underneath paddles, never liked them. i also kind of like that break away cable especially when i tend to drop my controllers so much ha!

How is it for durability, reliability, I play claw so don’t care at all for extra bumpers just want a controller Thant will last at least a bit longer

I had no problem with the extra trigger on top. I have a problem playing on PS controllers, it's y I play Xbox instead. I liked the V2 compared to all the other controllers I've had. I'm thinking of getting it again bcuz it lasts longer than any other controllers I had. But I'm thinking of buying the Elite real soon

Im done with all these "feature rich controllers", it was a gimmick and I was suckered in. Back to basics and Im good with it. I have an xbox elite 2 gathering dust whilst I play with a Frankenstein Xbox 360 controller, put together from 3 broken controllers cos you really cant get good quality controllers on the second hand market. This controller is right up my alley.

I agree this should not carry the Wolverine name. Should have been something else since it's a step back from the others. I've got a Wolverine Tournament edition and I couldn't go back to a controller without the back buttons. Plus why no removable cable? I mean the Tournament edition is only $20 more on Razers site so I would just opt for that

Generally, the product manufacturers want the consumers to believe the next product will be better than their last product. They also are not motivated to make a product that lasts for, for example, 10 years. A product that only lasts for approx one year (the usual length of a guarantee) means they can sell you another product when that one breaks. It's odd how people (consumers) often believe that the product manufacturers have the consumer's best interest at heart (just because that's what they infer in the adverts). When in fact, depending on the type of business model, all they want is to sell their products to you (e.g., the fossil fuel industry. e.g., "greenwash") So, we could organise and design a controller that had the right features and would last (& be repairable) indefinitely (fixing, adding parts as needed). For example, a modular, repairable and updatable design. However, why do people work in a business? To make money! How do they make more money? By selling more products! Only a form of socialism where the gamers owned the business, could make the "ideal" product. In other words, a product made for the interests of the gamers, not a product made for the interests of the industry ( though of course, businesses try to sell products that are either better or cheaper than the competition)

I wasn't too happy about not having a detachable cord in that case I usually play Madden competitively and just controller has been really good unfortunately someone did steal my tournament 2 version of the controller but this 100 bucks I think it's a good buy

bruh, tbh its to confusing. i play apex legends on xbox one x and I don't need no m1 or m2. like all that matters is the feel not the placement of m1 and m2. i probably will never use m1 and m2 so I think the v2 would be better for me cause of the comfort. and price

See I play claw so the paddles get in the way of me playing so for the RGB wolverine are the paddles removable? I just want a nice gripped controller with trigger stops and good thumb grips that all but seems hard to find one 😅

Could you please do a really small test for me? Most controllers don't pass this one. On the Dpad while holding right, move your thumb to also press up (while never letting go of the right dpad). In most controllers you won't actually feel the feedback of pressing the up button. Seems like only Xbone controller does this since has the tactile dpad. Other question, does the Wolverine V1 has tactile dpad? Pretty much your answer will make the decision of which one I buy so your input (hehe) is appreciated.

The newest version of the V2 has a removable, braided USB-C cable and remappable back triggers (which are in a weird spot but usable), so it’s a vast improvement.
