I have the AMT kit which I chose because of the little Grogu. He looks ok after some careful painting with a very fine brush. His 'egg' is also included which can be fixed to one of the seats behind Din Djarin which is where he is in the show. The lack of detail in Din Djarin's 'face' is taken care of by a decal that looks fine once it's in place. It saves you having to try to paint those details. You just need to use some setting solution to get the decal to conform to the front of the helmet. The flight control console in the AMT kit looks smaller than in the Revell because, like other parts of the model, there are additional parts that need to be attached. The absence of the full interior is a disappointment but not a killer as I tend to just have my models sitting on a shelf once they're finished. I have the Moebius model of the Raptor from Battlestar Galactica which has a very detailed interior. It's just sitting on a shelf with the hatch closed to keep out the dust. The AMT kits also has the aged yellow markings as well as 'pristine' markings for those who want to build an 'as new' ship. Another issue that I have seen in some commentaries is that the overall finish of the AMT kit is very smooth (I'm talking about the feel and look of the plastic rather than the panel lines and other details) compared to some parts, particularly the top of the fuselage, of the Revell kit. Given that the exterior should have a shiny metallic finish, the textured surface of parts of the Revell hull will make that very difficult to achieve.
Even though the AMT kit has better engine exhaust I would still rather have the Revell. AMT skimped on the interior! A big 👎 from me! Boo AMT! But, your comparison video definitely shows that they are not from the same molds like people are claiming! Thank you very much for sharing this video with us!! 👍🙂
Thanks for subscribing and sharpways info. I'm collecting Bandai 1/72 Star wars kit . In your comment, you mentioned details like Gundam, so revell is the only choice. Thank you so much !
Thanks for the demo got me thinking about doing booth if swap out the parts? I search for a stl as well someone may have one cut out saving the $$$ of getting 2 kits
I am not sure what to think of both kits 🤨, I am not much of a Star Wars fan, they both seem to have their ups and downs, but I do agree the revel kit looks much more like a ship and not a toy, on a different topic I love the idea of the Nautilus build, I loved that sub in the film, I just bet when its done it will really look the part 😊
I would say the Revell and if u don't want to drill out parts to light it, Shapeways sells the clear parts. Cheaper than buying both kits. Details are going to be tricky on the Nautilus but it's cool to be able to print things they've never made into kits!! Thanks for watching my friend!!
@@thecaptain2521 Cut things out does not bother me, as long as the build and detail is there and it all goes together good, you can work around other things, that's what make the hobbies so much fun 😊 I will look forward to the Sub Build, I loved that ship from the film.
Have a Revell kit on order through Amazon UK. It's taking them a hell of a long time to ship..........................hope the order isn't cancelled. I noticed after my order that Amazon no longer has it available or listed seller through Amazon UK. Curious.
I hope you got your kit. Amazon's shipping policy is weird. Rather than just shipping orders as customers make them, Amazon will provide a delivery date and will ship to meet that date. I've had Amazon sit on stuff for three weeks because the delivery date was a month from when the order was made. Whenever I've queried why something hasn't been shipped they just say that you'll have it by x date. Except for pre-orders, every other business I buy online from ships orders as they come in.
I just finished the AMT kit. It’s just….ok. The seam lines on the engines are a huge pain. Definitely not fun. There is flash, sink holes and some parts that don’t fit together well. Kinda reminded me of building one of there old car kits. Definitely not Tamiya or Revell of Germany quality. The Grogu figure wasn’t too bad. I got him painted up and it looks ok. I lit the engines, cockpit and navigation lights. People that see it think it’s cool.
Here in the UK, the AMT kit looks way over priced for what you get compared to the Revell kit, and the lack of rear cargo interior is not acceptable unless you plan an inflight model.
