But here on Terceira Island, there are only 5 or 6 bullfights in the arena per year and the bulls return to the pastures. The main tourist attraction is the rope bullfights in the streets, a tradition with over 400 years. There are around 220 bullfights on the streets a year between May and October. Olá, são lindos sim. Eu cá gosto deles todos, aqui na Ilha Terceira o touro é um ídolo. Quanto à sua afirmação, eu não chamaria propriamente judiar, se pensarmos que o touro vai correr nas ruas por 20 minutos e depois volta às pastagens. Talvez se pensar que em algumas cidades europeias existem carroças com cavalos a puxar por elas, para servirem de taxi e mostrar a cidade aos turistas, isso sim, chamaria falta de respeito ao animal, porque é um serviço de várias horas debaixo de um sol intenso e fazendo esforço. Um touro não puxa carroças nem tem ninguém em cima dele. Corre atras das pessoas apenas, volta às pastagens, bem tratado, com veterinário sempre a olhar por eles quando brigam lá no mato e ficam feridos. É um animal poderoso que muito adoramos e partilho da sua opinião, os castanhos são lindos sim. Obrigado, um abraço a toda a família, sejam felizes.

E eu acredito piamente que ninguém goste mais dos animais que vcs, visto que os criaram com todos os cuidados e amor desde pequenos. Largadas, não é relevante, pois não vejo essa parte como uma judiação ou tortura, mas tudo o que seja ferir o animal para prazer da plateia, já não concordo. Nem sou um fanático pela defesa dos animais e já fui um aficionado mas conforme os tempos vão evoluindo, vamos tomando consciência do que é certo e errado...e cravar ferros no lombo de um animal tão majestoso, levando até ao cansaço para prazer e escarnio de uma plateia , é uma atitude condenável e nós como seres ( supostamente mais inteligentes ) não o deveríamos fazer. Olá de novo senhor, sim, fui eu o responsável pelo comentário. De facto nem pensei que se estaria a referir às touradas de praça, pois como sou fã desta tradição das touradas nas ruas, foi logo o que me veio ao pensamento, precisamente porque muitas pessoas não estão de acordo com elas, embora sujeitas a regulamento aprovado na assembleia, com muitas regras a cumprir para o bem estar físico dos animais e das pessoas. Agora vamos ao que se referiu, as touradas de praça. Confesso que também não sou fã e entendo perfeitamente o seu ponto de vista. Aqui na Ilha Terceira apenas existem 5 ou 6 touradas de praça por ano e não estou presente em nenhuma. Não quer isto dizer que sou contra, eu já fui anteriormente. Tenho noção da atrocidade para com o animal, mas também tenho noção do que já foi explicado por veterinários e estudiosos sobre este animal bravo, que o mesmo ao ser picado, tem a incrível capacidade de inibir a dor e ataca não por ter dor mas sim porque é a natureza dele quando se sente encurralado e atiçado. É um animal de combate e reage como tal. De facto ficamos a pensar, se ele fosse fraco, a cada vez que é cravado um ferro, ele se retrairia, mas isso não acontece e ataca sempre. É como os animais selvagens que se atacam, ficam feridos e atacam sempre. O touro dizem ter um hipotálamo (parte do cérebro que sintetiza as neurohormonas encarregues, nomeadamente, da regulação das funções de stress ou de defesa), 20% superior ao de todos os outros bovinos, e que, por isso, tem uma capacidade superior de segregação de beta-endorfinas (hormona e anestesiaste natural encarregada de bloquear os receptores da dor) o que faz com que o toiro perante a colocação de uma bandarilha redobre as suas investidas em vez de fugir, que é a reação natural de qualquer animal à dor. É verdade que inibem a dor ? São factos científicos ? Não sei, não me meto nessas discussões. Não posso fazer nada, só podemos deixar o mundo rolar e seja o que Deus quiser. Entendo que tem de haver touradas a fim de evitar a extinção deste bravo animal. Sem touradas não é economicamente viável criar toiro bravos e estes acabariam no matadouro. Basta verificar que já só existem touros bravos nos países onde existem Touradas. A criação do touro de lide é muito mais cara do que qualquer outro bovino de carne. A manutenção da raça é insustentável sem a rentabilidade que vem da participação do touro nas touradas. Além disso, o touro de lide só existe porque existe uma seleção genética da bravura que se manifesta durante a lide. Sem selecção e sem corridas o toiro bravo desaparece. Nos dias de hoje as touradas salvaram o toiro da extinção e continuam a permitir a sua existência. A palavra tortura tornou-se um slogan antitaurino habitual. As corridas de toiros são precisamente o oposto da tortura e da barbaridade. Torturar é fazer sofrer um ser que não se pode defender, com o propósito de daí retirar um benefício, como uma confissão, e fazê-lo sem correr qualquer risco. Ora, a Corrida de Toiros é um duelo, um combate onde o toiro deve lutar e demonstrar a sua natureza e o homem só pode participar nesse combate se aceitar pôr a sua vida em risco. Qualquer aficionados detesta tanto o sofrimento e a violência como qualquer antitaurino, se não mais. Dizer-se que a Tourada tem por objectivo provocar sofrimento é próprio de quem se nega a conhecer, antes de mais, o que são as touradas. A Tourada não tem como objectivo infligir dor, da mesma forma que o sofrimento do peixe não é o objectivo do pescador, nem alguém que se alimenta de um bovino tem como objectivo fazer sofrer esse animal, apesar de contribuir para sua morte. O principal motivo de quem vai a uma Tourada é a admiração. Admiração pela bravura do toiro, antes de mais: pelo seu poder, pela sua combatividade incessante. Admiração também pela coragem do homem, pela sua audácia, pelo seu valor, pelo seu sangue-frio, a sua calma, a sua inteligência sobre o adversário. O sentido, o espírito, o valor da Corrida assenta nesses dois pilares: o primeiro é o combate do toiro, que deve poder exprimir, ao máximo, as suas faculdades ofensivas ou defensivas; o segundo pilar, simétrico, é o empenhamento do toureiro, que para afrontar o seu adversário tem por a sua vida em risco, como forma de consideração e respeito pelo toiro. Estes são os dois pilares éticos das touradas. O objectivo final da tourada é, a partir da relação entre o touro e o homem, representar valores profundamente humanos e exemplares para a vida de qualquer pessoa. É exigido ao toureio que supere os seus medos, colocando-se numa situação de enorme pressão e exigência, ao expor a vida ao risco da morte, mas que, apesar disso, e devido a isso, se comporte com hombridade e seja um exemplo humano para os demais. Estes são valores universais de excelência humana que as Corridas de Toiros exaltam e que são recomendáveis a todos os homens. A Tourada não tem como objectivo infligir dor, da mesma forma que o sofrimento do peixe não é o objectivo do pescador, nem alguém que se alimenta de um bovino tem como objectivo fazer sofrer esse animal, apesar de contribuir para sua morte. Um aficionado vai a uma corrida por admiração para com o toureio e os valores de coragem, resiliência, altivez que este executa na praça. Vai a uma corrida para desfrutar com a criação artística realizada pelo toureiro e, pela admiração para com o toiro, animal admirável e combativo, que não desiste, sendo ele mesmo um exemplo para os aficionados e para qualquer humano. Posto isto, é como eu referi, não sou fã de touradas de praça, mas não vou apoiar quem é contra. Apenas quero viver a vida sem confusões, fazendo o que gosto, na companhia de amigos. E acredite, se vier a esta ilha e estiver presente numa tourada de corda, vai fazer amigos de certeza. São mais de 200 touradas entre maio e outubro e todo o turista que vê, convive e é convidado a entrar nas casas das pessoas para tomar uma bebida e comer na sua mesa, nunca mais esquece. Olá, usam cavalos conforme o trabalho que vão fazer. Há proprietários que não tem cavalos, mas este tem. Só que para este serviço mais simples não havia necessidade de selar os cavalos.
