I'm super happy with the photos I shot out in Palm Springs with my Mamiya RB67. Unfortunately, I did get some light leaks on a few of my photos, but I will be going back soon so stay tuned to see those photos on my instagram.

This is wild this whole time I thought all these shoots in this neighborhood were set up. Not just in the wild! Siiiiiick 🔥

Palm Springs is such a cool city. Everyone has a lot of appreciation for older time periods. Being able to see mid century homes, classic cars, and palm trees everywhere is literally paradise for photographers

That's marvellous! I love it when you whistle after taking a photo! Like you're going to see the end result right away and love it! You put a lot energy in each shot! Keep up the great work! I love the photos

Thank you so much! I’m definitely going to prioritize documenting my photography on RU-vid more. Another reason why I whistle after taking a photo is because I actually hold my breath while shooting with my RB67. It’s a pretty big camera and it’s also very weird to hold so it’s a lot easier to frame everything properly if I hold my breath 😁

Super sickkkkk! 🔥🔥🔥 For the RB in this lighting do you use an ND filter at all? Or pull your film? Also which light metering app do you prefer with the RB?
@jhex
@jhex 4 месяца назад
I don’t use any filters and don’t pull or push my film. 99% of the time I’m shooting with my RB it’s on gold 200. It’s so much cheaper than other stocks and the photos still turn out great. The app that I meter with is called Lightme. After realizing how good this metering app is I don’t plan on ever getting an actual light meter

Yooo. Those shots are crazy 😍 new subscriber earned! Btw, how much do you do on post? Or are the colours straight from the scan?
@jhex
@jhex 4 месяца назад
Thank you so much! I do slightly color grade my photos because once I scan them they don’t look exactly like the stock straight off the bat
@evoselacov1923
@evoselacov1923 4 месяца назад
@@jhex ah thanks. And do you overexpose the negatives or do you shoot box speed?
@jhex
@jhex 4 месяца назад
@@evoselacov1923 It really depends on the scene but I typically try to expose my photos to either the midtones or shadows. Shooting a stop overexposed is always a safe way to make sure you’ve got good details in the dark parts of your frame as well tbh so sometimes I’ll do that if I’m not sure about the exposure. I also DSLR scan my photos so it’s super easy to correct an overexposed negative when you have full control of the scan

What model RB do you have(pro, pro s, pro sd) ? I’ve recently got my RB from Japan same problem I’d contact the seller and see if they will refund you the money it’ll take to get the light seal kit.
@jhex
@jhex 4 месяца назад
I actually just figured out my problem this week. The back I was using was broken and on top of having problems with the light leaks I was also having issues with the spacing of each individual photo on the negative as well. One of my friends gave me a mechanical film back a few months ago for the RB and I tested it and it fixed my issue. I actually bought my RB while I was in Japan in January and got it from a camera store in Tokyo so I can’t just as for a refund lol
