Hi, I was an RBT and recently made a career switch out of working in ABA therapy to working in a totally unrelated industry. I know that multiple relationships are not allowed as it creates conflicts of interest - does this apply to previous RBT’s who are no longer practicing?
Friendships are not a problem if you are not longer affiliated with the client. The ethics code is for current RBTs, so if you wanted to get into a relationship with the client, the best course of action would be to change your status as an active RBT, if it has not already lapsed.
