The Spektrum™ S120 USB-C Smart Charger features Spektrum Smart Charging technology in a small and simple to use platform. This 20W charger easily charges compatible Spektrum Smart batteries conveniently from almost any USB power source. When a Spektrum Smart battery is connected, the S120 immediately detects the battery information and automatically begins to charge. Spektrum Smart charging is designed to be safe, intuitive and convenient so you can simply look forward to putting your batteries back to action!
Charging is easy with the Spektrum S120 USB-C Smart Charger. Simply use the included USB cable to supply power to the S120 Smart Charger from a USB power source (not included). Plug in your Spektrum Smart battery (Lipo versions require the balance lead to be connected as well as the main lead) and the charger will automatically start charging. Monitor your charging status via a blinking purple or yellow LED. Once your charging is complete the LED will glow green.
Please note that the Spektrum S120 Charger will ONLY CHARGE 2-3 cell SPEKTRUM SMART LiPo/LiFe/LiHV and 6-7 cell SMART NiMh Batteries

Thanks for the video. I have never had issues charging RC batteries before until I bought a Spektrum 3300 mAh 7 Cell bettery and s120 charger for my sons Arma RC truck. The battery lasted 2 times then won't charge anymore. Just a solid blue light on the s120. I updated the firmware on the charger and have a new usb charging block for this charger. I saw on the Horizon hobby site forum that Spektrum batteries have this longevity issue. Any suggestion on what I can do in this situation?

Thanks for your video! My boy bought the Spectrum S120 to charge a SMC battery and now we know that it will not work! 🫠🙃 Tomorrow we will turn our house upside down and see if we can find the more expensive Spektrum charger that he misplaced.

People, USB ports also differ in the amount of power they can deliver. Colors are not part of the official USB standard, but do give indications. Don't use white or black ports unless you've read the small numbers. Using ports that don't deliver enough power for your device will cause it to not function correctly. That Spektrum charger is a 20W charger. It will turn on but won't function properly when connected to a low power output port. For example my quick charge adapter for my phone has an orange port with 15 W to 33 W rating. The cable has an orange connector both USB A and USB C side. Do not cheap out on cables because they will melt. My PC has black, blue and red ports. My external harddrive does not work when connected to a black port.

Hi. I've an intelligent charger S120. I've bought 4 other batteries (11.1V 850mAh 3S 30C Smart G2 LiPo Battery: IC2 SPMX8503S30): when I try to charge these batteries, the led of the charger starts to blink violet for some seconds but then it becomes white and the battery doesn't charge. How can I solve this problem?

I figured it out, if you’re battery is totally dead a regular 5v charger wont work. I found a variable quick charger 5, 9 and 12 v usb charger and it worked it started to charge at 12v and the light turned blue.

Mine came with my blade 330s helicopter paired with a smart battery 3300mah battery. Charger when plugged in to the wall and the battery never changes from a solid white led

It’s the only one of all the smart chargers that only do there batteries this one comes in all the RTF planes I’m doing a review on all of them so I started with the absolute cheapest option

My kids got me the Apprentice S2 1.2m RTF for Father's Day. Battery and charger came with the plane, battery won't charge. Charger light stays white (solid) with the battery hooked up. Forget about trying to get up with tech support, you would think they would take phone calls.....no. I'm done with this and this company. You make a great video for those who get something that works.

Thank you Wes, I'm new to spektrum and I'm older trying to absorb all this new info. I have an older generation 1 dx8 that I'd like to use with my aeroscout. It's there a way to do that? Thank you in advance. I have this charger with the aeroscout. Also, since I don't have any other spektrum equipment, how would I discharge?

No it’s set up to sense the cells when it has a battery plugged in. You want the S120 to have power first

Question. Out of the box, 2200/11.1 battery with charger [AeroScout from Horizon] charger indicator remains solid white. Could battery be damaged? One more thing, can I use a common power bank as charging power source? Thanks

Mine did also at first then I checked the usb hookup unplugged and plugged back in and it started working just make sure everything is hooked up solid

Sounds like it’s not seeing the battery. Are all of you using the smart batteries that come with the airplane? It only works with Spektrum smart batteries and no other brand?

Yep just had the same. Received my rtf s2 today was mega excited after delay in postage. Dint sleep All Night And the fucker won’t charge solid white light I’m fuming. Best of it is that it will take two weeks to send a video of the battery failing for them to replace the offending item. And I paid extra from a small hobby shop to help small business and After care is terrible. So upset 😭 hope this manufacture rectifies this fault as it apparent this is not Isolated incidents. #fuckers

My battery does not have a balance lead. My new battery won't charge. Horizon sent a replacement battery but it still won't charge ( no balance lead ) making me think I have the wrong battery. I've been away from the hobby for thirty years so the battery stuff is new to me.

Hello sir,I am a nanometer from buying a aeroscout 1.1 meter plane,the problem I am having is the rtf plane is not truthfully ready to fly,a complete lie .in order for me to fly this plane,I need to buy a battery and a charger.i have been flying rc planes since 1985. That battery checker is an overpriced piece of junk.A capacity controller battery checker is all you need.The smart battery system is an overpriced piece of junk.I use a regular lipo charger and lipo battery to fly my planes.Spektrum is over priced on everything they sell.
