2022: I used to live very near this airport. Watched planes hundreds of times from 1995 onward. Sometimes I would do touch & goes out of Chandler Airport here. The air shows that they had there were great, until the airport actually got used and very busy. I've seen many different aircraft there. I saw the Antonov An-225 and other Russian cargo aircraft fly in and out of there. It's still a wonderful place to visit and observe aircraft. Thanks for this video of an amazing and very purposeful aircraft.

WOW I can still smell it. From my time with the King Airs. All the smells that are associated with its maintenance come back to me. Had some good times with them.

Mesa police? Going to stop for speeding? Cool plane. Don't know much about it but I've seen it working in Korea. Didn't know the army flys fixed wing aircraft.

I assume since it looks similar in configuration to the USAF U-28 in configuration, that it does the same mission?

Looks like an RU-21 on steroids

It literally is. The RU-21 is based on the Beechcraft King Air, whereas the RC-12 is based on the Beechcraft Super King Air. It was decided fairly to use the RC-12 airframe rather than the RU-21 for Project Guardrail aircraft.
