I'm at the LARGEST RC meet in England! BashFest 2019! I've come along to have fun and get stuck in. This is a 1/5th scale petrol RC model event housing fun for all abilities. Included on this site is a technical track and oval circuit which although it's predominantly for 5th scale RCs, nothing stops you from taking a go yourself with whatever you drive! The guys were more than helpful and offered me a beer or two and a helping hand when I couldn't start my truck! That's the beauty of this hobby, everyone is in the same mindset, and everyone wants to get stuck in! Beware, this is some extreme racing and bashing in this video!

Awesome video mate, I’d defo recommend going here if you love petrol rc cars. Looks like you’ve got nearly everyone’s car on there too. Mine is the black draggone hammer with the gt3c sat on top. Good work mate.

Hey jake (if you can) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. answer this question to me...since I’m getting the Traxxas slash vxl Fox edition and I don’t like bashing my rc car ( just driving it around ) ,since I know I can’t repair the part I break until every time my dad gets his paycheck how long would my car last? Also a few others questions if it doesn’t bother you... since this is my first rc car what battery should I get from Traxxas and what charger.? Do I need any immediate upgrades as soon as I get the slash? But I don’t even know if I need upgrades since I don’t bash my rc car but it’s fun to see it off-road on grass or other terrains or like I said just drive it around.Hopefully you answer my questions. If you do I appreciate it a lot!

Hello there. From my experience with the Slash platform they're pretty tough out of the box. You'll probably want to change out the front and rear arms with RPM upgrades, I'd probably also change the drive shafts to the hardened model if you intend on running 3s all the time. I'd personally purchase the GensAce 2s 5000mah packs or 3s 5000mah packs. You can pick up balance chargers for minimal cost now, just make sure you balance charge your batteries correctly. - Jake

Are petrol vehicles only the ones allowed?? I have a DBLXe and an X Maxx can I come to this event in August. Will an X Maxx even allowed here ? Saw one though.

You can take any RC you fancy! It's not restricted to petrol or 1/5th :)

@@JakeBilling Totally correct Jake 🙂👍🏻 Since we started it, it's never been restricted to one single scale, 5th scale is the most popular, But there is also a 1/8th/1/10th scale smaller track over in the right hand side of the site, It's behind the Technical track, but isn't used that much, Mostly by the younger participants as the older guys take their 1/8th scales on the Oval & Tech tracks too 🙂 Which is at times 'Risky' 🤪

So Jake I know yours is a 4WD setup. I was under the impression that most 1/5 rigs like this are typically 2WD. is that still the case? Great video by the way.

Most of the petrol rigs are 2wd because of power train issues. Loads of people take them out and place 50cc + motors in them and the stock 4wd diffs and drive shafts can't handle it and therefore they're reduced to rear wheel drive. - I know madness.... 4WD is always going to be better than 2wd.

Baja 2wd losi 5t km x2 and 30 degree north are 4wd some others i missed on both 2wd and 4wd but there main ones 2wd for bashing and if going into racing get 4wd but 2wd with wheelies is lot fun
