wow, i have an R/C century racing boat and i think this is AWSOME!!!!!

It is a 960 mm ABS hull. The model is a kit from company Robbe. Just search the internet for Najade and Robbe. It should be easy to find.

@RetoFor Hey, it was a tongue-in-cheek comment. I'm a Chief Engineer on superyachts and I've worked on the real version of this. Although it only had the MTU 2000 series twin turbo engines in, a minute 1,600Hp each! Still the V8 boat your talking about sounds a beast, but when you get to that size, you might as well get one YOU can sit on too. ; )

Yup, that would be definitelly worth to try! This model is equipped with traditional electro motors.

@McChilla1 So wie der Baukasten von Robbe angeboten wird, ist eigentlich so ziemlich alles dabei ausser die Fernsteuerung und die Akkus natürlich. Die Funke von Dir sollte auf jeden Fall reichen und als Akku ist in dieser Najade ein BleiAkku verwendet. Was ich von Frank weiss ist, dass sie auf das Steuer etwas schwach reagiert, weil die Doppelruder ja nicht direkt hinter dem Prop sind. Da könnte man sich überlegen, dies auch anderst zu bauen, so dass sie etwas besser auf das Ruder anspricht.l

The price for the basic set is around 250 $ plus onboard technic which depends a little on what you like. RC set are in the meanwhile fairly cheap if you don't have a too high demand on it. Maybe all in all (model kit plus rc plus other technic) approx. 400$.

Even so I was not the builder (but Frank), I do believe it is a model which requires medium-skill-level. It is for shure a perfect model and if you have done some model work before it should be a fair try. Just go for it if you like and if you encounter some difficulties please feel free to ask either here or in any modelship forum. You gonna get advise then for certain!

Yes, in deed! It is a very nice Yacht model. Frank, the owner, just told me, that the rudders need some improvement compared to what is proposed in the kit. Then everything is working fine.

@Robinius123 You might find this model in the internet. It is still a current model so you might not have difficulties to buy it. The price depends on the additonal features you like (such as the motors, RC equippment etc. etc.

That is a function which might be easily built in. There are even very good kits for RC operated anchor winches available in the market. As the Najada has plenty of room, it can be included into such a model. But best is, when the equipment is installed from the beginning, as normally after connecting the deck with the hull, the access to the bow room is fairly tough (except you have hands in the size of a Hobbit ;-) )

@EngineerAn If there would be such an aggregate in 1/15 scale it would be a cool idea. I saw once a working model of a V8 "Big Block" GM motor. That was really hot stuff. But even this would be far too big to build into such a model. Oh - and the noise would just kill you ;-).

@Robinius123 Well, the base kit cost about CHF 400.-- plus motor approx. CHF 50. Accu is around CHF 100.--, plus RC components where you need at least a 2 channel RC radio (this you might get in Switzerland for about CHF 100), finally a speed controller is need what makes another CHF 50.--. As the rate USD to CHF is about 1:1 you might understand those prices in USD as well. But I have no clue reg. the prices in the US.

reminds me of the ill fated St. trpoez rc motor yacht. The work I've done on that boat, from engine cooling coils to weights foe CG lights decals etc. Only for UK market, made Germany/Japan

@snowmobiler56 Sorry it is not for sale and it is not a Ready-to-Run model as you may see in the video. But hey, why you not try to build it by yourself. It is really great fun and it is a kit what is quite ok to start with. Check the internet for the kit Najade from ROBBE.

As a matter of fact we do love full scale models. Faster would be - in terms of scale - far beyond! Anyway if I would like fast rc boat I would prefer a speed boat with a fibre glass hull rather then ABS. With ABS you risk a crack when speeding to much. But - as everywhere - it is a matter of everybodies favour and therefore many different ways are possible ;-)

Oh! OK, now I understand, thanks. Yes, it is definitely not toy level what is shown here. As a matter of fact there is also quite a difference in the price for such a model. You might get a glimps on the technic at about 2:00 in the video.

@THEACDC1995 Such a model is not a toy and is composed from a lot of high tech components. Approx. USD 500 would be the base kit only. In addition there are the technical parts like motors, RC componentes, and other things more. Depending on what you want to do you might end with a much higher price. E.g. if you check out the model "Jeremiah O'Brien" in my channel. For the same money Rolf spent there over the time you easaly can buy a nice car.

whot is the size of the hull and is it a fiberglass hull and where can i get a compleat hull,,i have all the motor and radio i just needa compleat hull,,looks great

@EngineerAn Don't worry, I wasn't dead serious neither ;-). Anyway this V8 model was really cool. A friend of mine was joking to plant it on top of his lawn-mower. Probably this would end up in neighborhood contest, because everyone would want to displace the others with even louder one. Stylish lawn mowing I would assume!!

@snowmobiler56 Ha! Maybe I can convert you then ;-) At least you seams to be interests in the price of the kit. That might be a beginning of a new liason - Hmmm? OK, just kidding, but the Robbe kit changes hands for about 180 Euro here in Europe. Of course all the small pieces coming on top so make it another approx 100 Euros. If you should be - as I told you, you never know - interest, you best check it out in the States as prices might vary there. If you need advise, just whistle.

@crazyboy14121996 Oh, to be honest I don't know those boats. By checking the Internet it seems to me that those boats might be full scales. If so I have to admit that I feel flattered you ask me that. We do only in scale models. Maybe you might ask an expert close to you where you might explain the purpose you would like to buy a boat and your expectations. They will help you then for shure. Hopefully this might be from any help to you!

@TheDennyhamlin11 Hmm, how do you define hobby grade?!? I would say yes it is, as we do our boats as hobby - we are no professionals. Even so you need some skills to build a model. And yes, it is using servo's (what else?).

He was probably asking because there are a lot of nice-looking boats on eBay and the likes that have really nice hulls but have crap, non-proportional electronics and steer via stopping one motor, lacking a rudder or any real means of precise control.
