I'm slow and only club race had my first season end in September. But I actually sponsored a friend by filling hos truck with spare electronics so he had his own to race. After letting him run my sct in novice all season.

I would like to be sponcerd one day. I am still learning and usually go to my local track twice a week. One day for club races and one day for practice. I figure you should only seek out a sponsor when you have the knowledge to help others and willing to help others.

I will say because of watching your vlogs, ( almost ALL OF THEM ) , I have officially ordered my first pro electric kit , yes a TEKNO!!! I will be setting up the car along w your setup you use .. and I will tweak it from there . I have just started building the AGAMA N1 BUGGY !!! I saw you mention the brand on a swap meet video , so I looked up NEMO RACING , and that was it . I ordered it that day ‘! Unfortunately there are NO TRACKS ONT HERE in Chicagoland that I have found …. I want to race SO BAD IT HURTS !!!! I’m a damn good driver to … jumping , rotating in turns , sting up the car , just practicing all the time . Dude is about to mount up $300 worth of tires & wheels in that video. Dang. Everyone thinks they need to be sponsored. I hate the word "sponsored" because you're not a paid Pro, there are only a couple Pro drivers who get paid to do RC professionally. Mark here is a nice guy who loves to race which his cool, but he is effectively a brand ambassador for Proline and Tekno at the track and gets a discount on those products. Nothing wrong with that. The thing is, is that, no one wants to be called a "discount driver and unpaid sales rep" which is effectively what you are, its a lot cooler to call yourself a sponsored driver, lol. And he also admits when "sponsored" you need to go to big races too, which means leaving work on maybe Wednesday, travel, hotel, meals, track fees, more tires etc and home hopefully by Sunday night? You've spent $1000 to race over a weekend because you're somewhat obligated to go there for those "sponsors" in order to save some money on tires and some parts? And the expectation is that you do this 3-4 times a year or more at your own cost? I love racing too but I don't get it. That math doesn't work for me. Maybe I just like club racing and I'm missing something. Side note, if you live outside of the US, the shipping and duty on products (like Proline) makes no sense when you're only getting 30% off MSRP. (Most guys start at about 30% discount). Often times its cheaper to buy at your local hobby shop who are the ones that need your support. So many guys get caught up in the idea that they need to be "sponsored" and its not good for the hobby and its especially not good for the local hobby shop IMO.

I just signed another year with vp Pro and Nitro Pro because those were the only companies that would sign me. I've tried tekno last year but was denied. That hurts, so I'm not trying again but still buying their products and acting like I'm signed with tekno lol
Hey Mark, question from a newbie! Where/How do I find tracks? I travel frequently, so is there like a website for tracks or what's the best way to find tracks wherever I'm at?
Curious:. Is Sponsoring only about racing?. Is there an opportunity to get sponsorship by just bashing. I was going to travel about the country, bashing and making videos in different places and RU-vid the bashing of the day? Or is it only about racing. Thanks. Have fun.
