I'm a noob rc guy. Even I can appreciate the well thought design of your planes! I plan on building a donkey as a test bed for some amateur radio tests that I have in mind. Thanks for the great videos 👍🏻🇺🇸
Ed, that really was fantastic! A while ago, my Dad came to me and tells me that he has an action figure with a parachute that he would like to be able to drop from a plane. He tells me that he'd like to learn to fly rc's. Awesome! I am going to get him a very nice "trainer" type plane and we are currently building a slightly modified version of the "Donkey". When he first mentioned "dropping capabilities", I immediately thought of the "Donkey". I showed him the video and he gave the "thumbs up". So....I'll be flying with my Dad this year and he'll be flying the "Donkey". Take care and, as always, thanks for all the continued tips for foam board planes!!!!
Nice Video Ed! I have been designing and building my own foam board planes and the 5" cord Armin Wing is my staple. I have not done a tricycle gear plane yet. Nice solution!
Love your videos I am starting to build a couple of your designs as soon as the weather breaks here in KY I will see how they fly an let you know. George
Thanks Ed. Liked this plane a great deal. I took your measurements and created a set of plans that I emailed to you. I created the plans for two High School RC clubs I work with as a plane each club member could build as their club plane. Also, a number of members in my flying club are building them as well. Feel free to give the plans I sent you out to other watchers of your You Tube channel.
Great video Ed. Good to see you posting. The Wood and metal for the wing hold down are awesome idea, Very Strong and easy to do at the field, but way advanced. Be nice to see a video of that but alas, we can't go back in time can we. Do you think regular PVC sheeting could work for the drop door (I have some on hand) or is it too brittle to hold weight over time. I know it is too brittle for the wing hold down. The steering assembly for the front wheels, where did you find one like that? It looks different, but might be the angle of the video. What is the voltage smoothing capacitor for? I mean, I get the title of it, but don't understand why it's there or how you did it. Is it for the extra servos for flaps and such? I have no idea. Thanks for anything you can answer. Peace, 👍
SnapPunch Robert, For the wing hold down heres a tip glue cut painters sticks to the inside leading and trailing edges of the wing when first building the wing and then once your finished making it screw the bottom plate to them. Any flat board should work for the trap door.
