RC Fleet Update 

I saw this vid a couple weeks ago and got motivated to get another RC. I'm really a newb, I'm 29yo and haven't had an RC since I was 12, and never even a hobby grade. Back in february I needed a good RC to make a camera rig for a project, after lots of marketplace surfing and research I picked up a sad stock 2wd Slash from 2008, the 4wheelparts discontinued one with the XL5 and NiMH. Long story short, I fully disassmbled the truck and as it turns out, it was a shelf queen mostly with very little runtime! the project flopped and now I had a perfectly good RC with no destiny. I searched for local clubs and found one that races SCTs in an outdoor dirt track close home. BINGO!, my third battery cycle with the NiMh was at that track, in a championship I signed, and rolled over in every corner possible. Second race, after setting it up in the best possible way with stretched and cut to fit stock springs, stock shock oil, open diff, and everything I could! I won the race!, against experienced drivers with much more modded Slashes. Now I picked up a King Shocks Baja Rey 2.0 to race in the 4wd class, my gf will be driving the Slash, and I'll pickup a Kyosho Outlaw Rampage to terrorize the 2wd SCTs!!!

I just got my first RC! Is a pre owned EB 410.2, needs a little love but I’m happy with it and super excited to get it tuned and ready for the first outing at Phil Hurd on Dec 10th

I like the durability of my MCD Duox 2wd Touing car. Very durable and very tunable chassis setup.

I still have never finished a kit so many brands to choose and the categories still learning them. I like the teckno short course but i can see the limitations you mentioned. i would like to try off road and road before i choose.

I got back into the hobby recently and quickly learned my old Losi XXX-CR would be too difficult to keep running, so I built a Losi SCT kit this spring. I replaced the ball diff with a geared one but the design seems like it is aging and I’d like some of the changes they made for the 22 5.0 DC I also bought. I also have a mugen seiki mbx8 eco I bought from a guy as a roller, and just finished putting together a tekno eb48 2.1 kit. The tekno seems heavier than the mugen seiki but the designs seem very similar. I also have a losi mini b pro roller I put together and a Traxxas Slash vxl that I’ve swapped out everything but the drivetrain on trying to get it to perform like my Losi sct. I don’t really race but just like driving at my local tracks. I have all these cars but my main tx is a basic dx3. I guess I have more budget than skill or intelligence in my pursuit of this hobby, hopefully I can pull back a bit and drive what I have and work on the fundamentals. My mugen and tekno kits are my most recent so I was working on fundamentals with rwd cars. I think they are all fine with the Slash being very polished but needing the most work to perform well as well as the most maintenance on things like the pins that hold control arms in. I’m a sucker for rwd buggies so I love my 22 but the performance of the mugen seiki is amazing.

Awesome videos i have just gotten into this wonderful hobby. It is only until now that i would like to begin doing kits. im still not really sure what the difference is between truggies and buggies off road and on road? Different types of racing? Seems all very interested i will be doing only electric. For now i have a 4s mojave and traxxas v2 max. Next i would like to do kits and then finally get into racing. I live in las vegas not sure what is more popular here.
