Awesome and realistic car model work, well built power stages, excellent drifts and traction control.I like the fact that the cars simulate a real race so nice. And of course young and older have a lot of fun.
and eventually when they have artificial intelligence , they will come back, imprison them. except for entertainment they will let the giants come out in ball and chain and watch them "run" that tough long track
Love it! Didn't see one fat bloke! That's why here in America we are more into short course and rock crawling, half the guys I know would fall over dead before the end of one event. Cool video. If I ever get the chance to go at Australia (or the UK) I'm buy or bringing a car to try this myself.
Interesting...I've never seen this type of RC racing before. Like others have said, I could see an FPV version of this being popular. Though, it also looks like a fun way to get some exercise.
I race RC and this looks like a trip to the ER for me. I know I would have the car going faster and more agile than my feet could carry me!! Wouldn't stop me from trying it though!
I love cruising around on my outdoor RC track, don't get me wrong. But if I had to chase the godamn thing around like this, that thing would still be sitting on the shelf since I bought it. I swear a blue streak as it is when I manage to roll it and have to walk across the track to flip it.
muaythai193 That is already being done, RC distance flying. Only people are using cars for that. There are even distance RC soaring competitions in Australia, with the sailplanes flying up to 1000m high.
Wowthatsfail i agree with you. Kind of defeats the purpose of having an r.c., i also think pov cameras would show their true driving skills. Still awesome though.
You never see fat guys doing RC rally racing. hahaha Not sure I could do it. Probably get winded half way thru and pass out. haha. Still awesome though.
I've never done or seen this, but my guess is two reasons. 1. They would be out of sight if they didn't. 2. I'm not sure why they are following so closely though. Maybe because they can get a better view of the top of the car, to ensure they don't go outside of the lines.
hakkujin Yeah you're right. also there are corners that go behind trees. Plus the tracks are usually long. it's a rally track so there are no laps. only a long sprint.
I like rally and rc cars, so I'm pretty sure I'd be into this. I only have an 8th scale brushless buggy and I'm getting a big, brushless truck soon. I'm more into jumping them over at the BMX tracks, but I might have to get a rally car too. This looks like fun, but there aren't groups around here for this sort of thing. It would be just me, by myself, running around the woods like a maniac. I might do it anyway.
I must admit I laughed at the rc aircraft pilot running into a pole, but who cares if it looks silly running after an rc car I bet they all had a great time getting together and sharing the rc experience in a competition it does not have to be super serious Fun is fun, btw the rally course you could make assuming you can see the whole thing from a stand would not be as cool... so shhh
yeah but in the USA u guys only know how to race in circles.... I mean how hard can turning left be??? :) just playing.... But honestly are u serious? firstly RC cars in general don't have sensors... well maybe if it has telemetry, but that's got nothing to do with the range. And seriously did u think about it? really? don't lye? how well do u think they could see the whole track standing at the start line? just some food for thought.
Its very difficult to watch these cars race when there's a full grown man running a foot behind it. I do understand why, it is just really distractedly funny. In all fairness if i did this id probably run right into the puddles and bridges..
Next step would be take out all the electronics and just push them along, like we did in when we were young. Mom might have to patch up the knees of out trousers later.
This would be awesome if they could work out a way to not have the driver running behind the car. Divides their focus so they're not giving %100 to the actual driving. A bit goofy, and it's only a matter of time til someone stomps that bridge!
this looks realy nice! even running behind your car is nice, you excercise and can drive a long track. Anyone know something like this in austria? or lets say..europe? would like to join or visit this rally
+lukas hummer The Czech Republic is where it's at, but there are events like these starting to pop up in various places - where there's an interest, there's possibilities! ;) Check out the Rally subforum on RCCRAWLERdotCOM, for instance. ^^

Wouldn't this be better with little aio fpv cameras and fpv goggles or a monitor? The driver can sit and feel like They are in the car. I know range may be an issue so make the track smaller. The running behind the cool rc cars kooks silly.
It really takes out the inmersion they way they got to chase the cars, there should have a camera installed inside the vehicles and the competitors should have some type of sunglasses with optics inside the car.
Wow that don't look like fun at all. Having to run behind the remote control car. F-That. But all so I'm a lazy ass "YANK" American as the Australian people would say. Lol
they need more weight for better suspension mechanics and to look more scale, as it seems to be what they're going for. otherwise they're just bouncy and the suspension won't do anything, as it's too stiff
Hilarious that they run behind the cars. It would be better if the cars had a little camera built it and they could view it on a phone screen attached to their controller. Or, through a VR headset.
peeta0330 well...there are many reasons not to use camera 1) the car will be flip 2) the camera is not clear. (camera quality, signal interference...etc) 3) weight and battery issues. 4) Most importantly, the view of camera must be narrow and shock. Rally gets many sharp turns. Narrow view is not good to get good result.
