The T65 RC sailboat was a joy to build and is fun to sail. Here's a video of Delphinus in close at Kawaihae Harbor-- you can see how well she behaves. easy to transport-- the rig comes off and the keel drops out. 5 minutes to set up.
You can see the T65 kit on Tippecanoe Boats websites. I checked with Will Lesh there and he indeed will ship to Oz, estimated using UPS to be in the range of $350-$450 depending on the address. It has to go UPS because Australian mail has length limitations that the T65 it exceeds. I sure hope you get your wish and have the fun of building and sailing this wonderful model. -Carl
The T65 is made from a very complete kit sold by Tippecanoe Boats in Everson Washington, USA . The kit does not include drawings or plans, but has a very complete detailed instruction manual with photos and explanation. See the T65 on the website for sailingisme.com . There are many sites on the internet selling model sailboat plans, but it 's hard find one as beautiful as this boat!
Looks to me a great boat - tuning might be improved slightly - by first opening the jib while beating - It looks too close to me - and reducing the twist of the mainsail with the kicker or vang. Thus the boat will accelerate rather than heel when beating upwind. As a rule of thumb, you need to have the jib boom open by three fingers at least - from the mast to the rear tip fo the jib boom. And twist in the main must be kept much less than on this video.
I am the Marine Cargo Specialist at Kawaihae Harbor I will be purchasing a T65 in two week. Did you do the build yourself. Imi looking for someone to do the build for me. Have any suggestions.
