Side by side RC sand drag racing in eastern North Carolina. Hosted by NCRC Mud Motorsports, this event featured two classes, straight axle and unlimited. It was double elimination.
The track is 80' long and each lane is 8'6" wide. A BB Road Runner Tree was used.
Like all of their events, this RC sand drag racing was super smooth and professionally run. The team that hosts and runs these events participate in full-size motorsports, so their experience definitely shows in the RC events they put on.

Not sure where u guys are located, but am from so cal and we race in Huntington Beach 🏖️. The cars used are anything from Traxxas and arrma mainly, 2wd chassis and 4wd chassis. There’s kids class stock 3s and then stock chassis 2wd & 4wd going from 3s to 8s. Then there is 2wd & 4wd unlimited class anything gos with up to 12s lipo battery 🔋 but I guess it depends on who is hosting the event. It’s a lot of and very challenging in a non traditional drag racing on asphalt or cement in my opinion

Just show Ms the original RC designs were for a reason that even 40 years later still use the same designs for racing

Simple 2wd buggy with the right driver , simpler and faster salute to the driver

Without a doubt driver was 100% the key to success in sand drags. I do, however, think we'll more and more dialed in and rigs specifically built for sand drags at future events
