Riverside City College Marching Tigers 2010 show: Les Miserables. Exhibition Performance 11/13/2010 At The End Of The Day I Dreamed a Dream Attack On Rue Plumet One Day More
To those negative comments about RCC, you need to know your history and how this band operates. I was an original member in 1984 and marched for 15 years. We used to compete against other colleges, but after winning for the 11 years in a row, no one would go against us. They do not bring in a choir, those are members of the band that play interments or are members of the guard. The greatness of this program goes back to the director, Gary Locke and all of the fantastic instructors that teach.
They are really good! I love their field coverage!! Rare you see a medium size band with that much field coverage. I wasnt a huge fan of all the vocals though. Wish I could have heard a bit more melody in the ensemble. The pit was amazing though
If you want to see how to do this even better watch 1989 Cadets of Bergen County - "Les Miserables". Unfortunately I could not find their whole show on RU-vid anymore.
Because most other college bands don't have 11 years of 1st place wins under their belts, as well as countless movie, tv show, commercial, and music video gigs. And of course our complete staff of Blue Devils =P
Musically, stellar. In fact, for marching band, more than stellar. Instead of the singing, I wish it to be instrumental, would make it a lot more effective.
This really outstanding band didn't need a show choir. Don't get me wrong. This was an outstanding drill, musically arranged band and executed very well. However, I'm not into show choirs with marching band accompaniment. Bring back marching band to marching bands.
Yeah, but most universities don't actually march and play. But they're more about wgi than anything. If you want anything that blows any band, college, hs, or university out of the water, just go watch drum corps. I don't remember the last time I played only an 8 min show.
wow not bad, even by my standards, i actually like the singers, the females were good, they should have gotten some real baritones and tenors for the lower parts though. yall might have even been able to take on my band lol
only complaint i have are a few times when the parts i'm pretty sure should be sung by females are sung by a male. Another is that at times the band over powers the vocalists, so maybe amps should have been up higher.? Other then that amazing
Hm... Not sure what to do with that. Was that Citrus Singers or RCC or a Super Bowl halftime show? No doubt, RCC is very talented and skilled, but in all seriousness this is too much like trying to meld knitting and cliff diving. Both have their places...but together they're just weird...and dangerous.
