On Thursday, 11 July, over 50 RCSI Fellows, Members and alumni joined us for a talk delivered by Mr Joe Duignan, FRCSI, retired surgeon and former Council Member. Over the course of 30 minutes, Mr Duignan drew upon the research he had undertaken as co-author of the new history of "Irish Doctors in the Second World War" to provide us with insights into the lives, stories and experiences of some incredible war-time physicians. From a POW in Colditz Castle to a survivor of the atomic bomb in Nagasaki - it was a fascinating talk.
