@@mistanderson DMX: "F*CK a beat listen to words in the damn song." 2pac: "Listen to what these rappers are saying and ask yourself is that real to you, don't just nod your head to the beat; really listen to the lyrics." Living a generation that prioritizes Beats over substance 🤦🏾♂️
Cole & 21 the best unlikely duo since Drake & Future. My Life probably my favorite song. Also rock w/ 95 South, Applying Pressure, Pride is the Devil, and Climb Back obviously.
My Life and Let Go My Hand were my 2 favorites. Love the whole project but from the documentary he seems to be thinking about retirement soon. In my opinion he’s only getting better
@@Kickinthescience he's not but he had way more songs to get you hype on FHD and KOD. This album is more personal and lyrical. I love it but I get exactly what she's saying
After my first listen I thought the album was okay but after my second and third listen I would honestly say this is his best project since 2014 forest hills drive. I absolutely love the aggression he brings to the project 🔥
Yea exactly I feel like this was personal album for him like a album for him to showcase abilities Not gonna lie I consider more like a mixtape than an actual album now Im just waiting for his last album "The Fall Off"
Most of the time j. Cole albums aged well. I mean when kod first came out I was like okayy cool album but then I realized how.. .. Kevin's heart, 1985, photograph, windown pain.. Hit different.. Like Damn ! I mean this one sound amazing. For a first week. Give this album 5 months and I guarantee you... CLASSIC 😂🔥
Dee I love you... Forest Hills has a lot more chill beats lol... But it is my favorite Cole album... But this one is crazy too... Maybe I'm hyped bc its new but this shit hard lol
She lost me when she said that she liked KOD more than this lol. For me it's the exact opposite. He redeemed himself with this album. KOD has little replay value to me.
This album felt like an album for his day ones (Warm Up, Friday Night Lights fans). The hunger, aggression, bars that I've been wanting from him for a while. I liked it a lot.
My thoughts on the album align so much with Dee's here. I'm a huge J. Cole fan, have listened to nearly all of his music since 2010 and I'm from NC, but I'm not a Stan so I have to look at it objectively. Don't get me wrong I liked the album, but the way people were hyping it up, I was expecting his best album yet. There was just something missing from it for me, only half of the songs were ones that I would want to add on my playlist, so personally would give the album a 7.5 out of 10.
Dee hit it on the head. I gave it 8 out of 10. Minus 2 for most of the presentation as the songs don't stand out except for a couple. Lyrics and flow were on point.
His best albums were forest hills drive and cold world...and those are my all time favorite albums...stuff he puts out now is good to but them first albums were FIIIREE
Dee, I feel your criticism. There is not one song that gets me excited on his album. I need that initial track to capture my attention off top. If I have to listen to it twice to force myself to like it, that in my opinion is just not a great album to me. For example, when I heard "God's Plan" by Drake or "Life is Good" by Future, I immediately knew, off the first listen, it was a hit and wanted to hear it again.
Everything need Balance in Life. The industry been promoting Murder everyday like breakfast shit annoying. We so used to it, that shit almost becomes our reality. Rapper like J Cole , Nas will always give us a different perspective on what if we do things different. we cant expect bopping music from J Cole all the time the man is growing. Next Big move I see for J Cole is investing in big companies and start up.
Why she talking about that’s not rap when that is exactly how rap was started it’s just not the rap you into, niggas was lyrical before any other style
I guess she don't know about KRS-ONE, Big Daddy Kane, L.L. Cool J., Raekwon, Method Man, Redman, Guru, Prodigy, Common, Nas, Biggie, Black Thought, Rakim, Mos Def, MC Lyte, Melly Mel and the other pioneers of Hip Hop. Like you said that's how hip-hop was started lyrics and bars. Smdh
I liked the album. I’m just kinda salty it was short as hell after waiting 3+ years for it 😂😂 and I’m kinda with Dee. Let go of my hand was pretty boring to me
