I was literally just thinking like “did they watch the show?” Cuz that for sure sounds like something Aang would say. It’s not out of character for him at all. Hell, the whole reason he got stuck in that iceberg for a century was because of the fact that he didn’t want to bare the responsibilities of being the Avatar. But if they’re criticizing that the live-action actors don’t have the exact same voice as the animated voice actors then that doesn’t make any sense either because that shit was made a decade ago, so idk what Mark is talking about like what 🤨😂😭.

I think the script was too direct. Aang only said he never wanted to be the Avatar, not so much emphasis on the responsibility part. At the time he said that, he didn't understand the heaviness of the responsibility of being the new Avatar who had to end the 100-year war. Once he understood the responsibility, finding out about Sozin's comet and stuff, he stopped running and took the responsibility seriously. He may have procrastinated about learning the elements, but I don't remember him outright not wanting the responsibility. But still, we don't know the context of when he said this line. If he said this after finding out what happened to his people, it'd be more understandable.

The cast of Netflix's "Avatar: The Last Airbender" recently disclosed that a significant aspect of Sokka's personality would be altered for the adaptation. Specifically, his attitude towards women would be changed. At the start of the original animated series, Sokka was portrayed as sexist, believing that women were not as capable of fighting as men. This character flaw was challenged by his sister Katara and when he met Suki and the Kyoshi Warriors in the Earth Kingdom. Although he started as a bit of a misogynist, he transforms the series and becomes more accepting as the story progresses. I think it's important to keep Sokka's fundamental character arc intact as it allows him to grow as a character. If the writers take away his flaw, he won't have anywhere to develop unless they give him a new flaw to work on. Nowadays, there seems to be a trend in media, especially in remakes, where characters' problematic beliefs are smoothed out, to not offend the audience. I believe this misses the point of character arcs. For example, Sokka isn't written to be sexist because the show's creators are sexist. They highlight his flaws and demonstrate how he is wrong. So yes the series doesn't look so good aside from the graphics, and this is from all we know, I'm not an anti-sjw guy but it looks like the show is gonna be "woke" and such changes would make it different from the original and probably inferior and yes RDC should have written yet or at least create a new Hoodbender episode . Cap. Sokka personality is not about being sexist. His personality is sarcastic and being funny. I have seen sarcastic sokka in the second trailer mark is reacting to.

@@UnitedNativepeopleofkemet that’s not cap, I said a bit not a lot. Which that’s what it is. A bit. that’s a big part of his character when it comes to women in the beginning. Which makes the Keyoshi arc more humbling for him.

Especially when it’s already a remake of something and most ppl who are watching it have already seen the original or plan to watch the original first, if you show all the best visuals of the live-action version of a series that’s already been done… then what? We know the entire story and now we know how everything/everyone looks… there’s nothing to watch now. For example, I love the MCU BUT- the MCU’s trailers have popularized spoiling the majority of the movie and the best points of the movie within their trailers and it needs to stop.
