I love going to New Austin in chapter 2 to hunt legendary animals, record the three places of interest, get the el lobo gang hats and the other three hats, record the dinosaur bones locations, get the elemental trail map, get the ram skull mask, and pick the herbs.
So far all I've done is pick the herbs and record the dinosaur bone locations with the Eden's Buggy method and get the scarecrow top hat, ram skull mask, male fertility statue, ancient necklace, Otis Miller's revolver, etc. using the Bronte glitch. I've yet to get the Del Lobos hats and NA legendary animals. I think I'll save the hats for John to get and try to get the legendary animals as Arthur.
Just nailed it today from 2nd try. 1st time i skined normally but ofc got shot since buggy somehow didnt worked. Ty for all the work you helped us with now im finally done with new austin and move ahead with safe areas to explore ! :) 🙏
Do you have to skin the animal and put it on the horse to get the amulet/talisman/equipment from the fence or trapper, or is it enough to kill it and leave it lying around?

That sounds good because I find skinning much more difficult and I like to leave out everything that is not necessary. The path of least resistance is what I always favour in this game, but your skills in getting to your goal are very creative, that's what sets you apart. Thanks for the very quick reply ;)
Yes, you go a distance and come back. There can be random camper under the tree in this area. Can cause "too much activity". You can also drive him away if he is the reason

Hey can I kill all 3 of the Legendary Animals on 1 go without setting up camp and fast traveling after killing each one, because I just kill the bison and it updated in my compendium then I went and killed the Pronghorn but it hasn’t been updated in the compendium? I’m not sure?
@@miw7376 It is possible and not that hard since you only need to kill the animals. For the compendium to be updated, you only need to wait longer or if you die, when you come back you will see the prompt immediately
@@miw7376 I'm scared to skin the animals, too. I think I might be able to kill them successfully, but skinning, then putting the animal on my horse is another thing.
I did manage to skin him first try, but then the camera zoomed in on me while I was holding the pelt and I died. Anyway, it works for me, I just wanted to skin it for the compendium entry, so it's not stuck at 66% progress.
@@regina77phalange Ah, I didn't know that. Still I didn't want to take any chances. Thanks for the tutorials btw. I followed them for the dinosaur bones and legendary animals. Now it's time for the Turtle Shell Trinket. Seems like the ultimate challenge for Arthur in New Austin.
If you enter the territory from my direction, the 1st clue should be showing. BTW, sometimes, there may be some random campers around the area. The prompt will say "there is too much activity". That way, the legendary animals don't spawn, either. No need to worry about patches, really. They have stopped doing that for ages😄
@@classifiedinformation960Yes, you only have to kill it. No skinning. All the special items will be received from the Fence and Trapper at a later time
@@regina77phalange I just all of them thanks for the tutorial, I killed the 3 legendary animals there all in a row then died to the sniper on my way back, I’m gonna try and get that pecarry pig with a glitch and get all trapper clothes and in Bronte mission buy the rest of the close and try to complete all challenges getting herbs and get Otis revolver all as Arthur then I can just have everything with him and create a save having everything as Arthur instead of John
I did it first try but I didn’t brought my horse with me and I didn’t got the message that I could now use the pelt for crafting lol got it on my second try thanks for the vid
I hate going to New Austin in the buggy because I have such a hard time with it but I was down there anyway for the Dino bones and when I finished that I was like “I guess I could get some animals while I’m here” I got the pronghorn (thanks to your video on it!) and was trying to get this but the second clue wouldn’t show up? I went around and around the area but nothing showed… it really sucks cause I absolutely do NOT want to come back down to get it later when it respawns 🤦♂️
Update: I finally went back, I went straight for the bison and for some reason that caused the “too much activity nearby” thing so I had to leave and come back a few hours later. The first time I followed the road to get some distance and the law attacked me, second time I followed the train track up past macfarlane ranch and that worked 👏 by the time I came back the activity was gone and I got the bison!
It definitely takes a lot of practice. It seemed literally impossible for me at first, especially since I'm on version 1.00, and the sniper shoots like they're using a damn ass assault rifle. I finally got the hang of getting the angle right and everything. If you wanna try again, I have a tutorial video on how to pick the herbs in New Austin, and I'll be uploading one soon about how to get the dinosaur bones in NA.
@@regina77phalange was able to snag the pronghorn, but wasn't able to skin it because the Arthur decided to jump back in the buggy and die. would I still get the journal drawing
it's possible to pick new herbs in new Austin as Arthur but u have to memorize the exact location for the herbs and for the otis miller revolver it's impossible to pick I think cause u need to abandon the buggy in order to get inside the cave
