The Registered Connemara Pony Stallion parade was held in the RDS Dublin Horse in July this year. The standard was incredibly high and nearly all the ponies are successful show jumpers and performance ponies. They were a very large number of ponies entered from France which is a long way to come to show a pony. They were principally coming to compete in the Connemara Pony (Nations Cup type) competition being held now for Connemara ponies. on the It included many impressive representatives of the breed from all over the country and containing superb lineage. The Connemara Pony is a traditional Irish Bred Pony suitable for all disciplines in show jumping Ashfield Bobby Sparrow was one of the best showjumping ponies in the world during the 1980's and his progeny have been successful to. Connemara ponies have also won at eventing driving and dressage. Connemara Ponies are a hardy type with a good temperament, they are intelligent and brave. There most common colour is Gray, But there is also Chesnuts, Bay/Brown and of course Dun a colour that is almost exclusive to the Connemara Pony but occasionally is found in Irish Draughts.
