I took apart my machine to get thread unstuck and for the life of me couldn't remember how to get it back together being someone who rarely uses my machine. So thank you so much for this video!
You’re the third video I tried when attempting to figure out how to put this housing back together and yours is the ONLY one out of the three that explained everything in detail and put your camera at an appropriate angle!! Thank you!
thank you!!!!!! i’m in the middle of sewing masks for hospitals, friends and families during covid and my Singer jammed completely a few minutes ago.Devastation!!!! Can’t take the machine to a repair center as everything is still shut down here in new jersey - oh no!!! But i thought, “maybe some handy person put a tutorial on line to help some desperate stranger”. And i found you, randy, my absolute savior. Not only was the video easy to understand, your instructions worked!!!!!! Thank you for helping a complete stranger this morning.
Thanks. I have the instructions but I think they are horribly written. I thought I had a choice between the bottom bobbin or the top. I thread it at the top, but it doesn’t sew, now, you’re saying both has to be threaded. Where do I put the thread through from the bottom? It’s hard for me to believe they go through the same needle…The hole is so small, I had to use high powered microscopes glasses to put the tread through…it looks impossible to put two threads in that tiny hole….thanks for your help.
@@brownr749 I laughed at your description of how you think the top and bottom threads go together. In case your wondering, find a Y T video How a sewing machine works. It is a short video that shows pictures of what goes on with both threads and how they meet in middle and form a stitch. I would also suggest to get self a manual. Google it, there are even free copies of manuals for most machines. Still laughing.
When you have thread on the bobbin and pulled out about 3 inches put it in the bobbin holder. make sure you have the thread on the top threaded through the needle. turn the wheel towards you slowly and the bobbin thread will come up through the hole by itself
Amazing! Had a piece of thread super stuck and my Singer was completely jammed. I'm new to sewing and I had no idea how to get the string unstuck. You saved me from returning this machine :)
You are such a sweetheart for showing us how to put that back together. I tried for 20 minutes to fix this before I looked on RU-vid. Thank you so much!!
Thank you Ray, I was in the middle of making masks and my bobbin casing fell out and I was ready to order a new machine. Your video was a great help and you explained the process very precisely.
Thank you so much for posting this! It is quick, clear and concise - something to refer back to if confusion sets in! I appreciate that you use the correct terms for the parts.
Thank you so much for this!! I bought my machine second-hand and have never seen one with this type of mechanism in any machines I've used before -- this video was a lifesaver!
I was about to take my sewing machine to the thrift store and purchase a new one. I was so frustrated trying to put the bobbin case back together I have always used machines with drop in bobbins. After watching your video it was quite clear what I was doing wrong. Thank you so very much for a great video. I greatly appreciate it👍
This was just brilliant. Mum had been trying to put her machine back together for ages without success but once I found this I managed to get it all up and running within minutes. Thank you!
Thank you! My husband found a Japanese Class 15, all metal, probably from the 60s at a thrift store for $45 with cabinet. Although the machine looked pretty clean, the handwheel clutch was frozen and everything was tight. Cleaned and oiled the machine. The last thing was a thorough cleaning and oiling of the bobbin assembly. I really meant to keep it in order, but it just fell out. Your video was a lifesaver!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've looked at 10+ videos to try to figure out my problem and at first I thought it was a timing issue but after watching this one and dissembling the shuttle hook, I found out that I had teeny tiny threads stuck inside!! I was so afraid to dissemble the hook but your video made it so easy and simple. After I cleaned out everything, I could start to sew again!!!! Life saver!! I've only had the machine for 2 days and I'm a first time sewing machine user and I thought my journey was going to end before I could even start....so thank you so much!! This was super helpful!!!
Thank you so much!!! Just the video I needed to "Solve the Puzzle". I loaned out my machine and when it came back they had "Solved the Puzzle" incorrectly. Great Video!!! Now I can do the Christmas sewing I had planned. You are a blessing to me at this Christmas season.
You are the man! I have been unable to use my machine for months! I had an alteration that I absolutely couldn’t avoid and hand stitching on this fabric, no matter how meticulous, would look awful. I gave up and decided I had to try to look for a RU-vid video. I’ll still need to get some oil next time I’m in the city but for now my bobbin casing is in one piece again
I just picked up sewing with a machine this year. I used to do it by hand for patches and things like pocket repairs, but I needed to fix my husbands pants. It’s been about 6 months; and I don’t use my machine much. It’s a Singer M2100. Today I had a massive jam up, and I moved one of the clips by accident and the whole unit fell apart. I panicked. Then I found this video and now my machine works again! Yay! Thank you for this video. It’s amazingly helpful to newbies like me!
I spent half an hour trying to figure out how to put this back together. Yours was the first video that came up and I was able to fix it on the first try! I didn't have the needle to the highest point. Thank you so much!
What a champion! Thanks so much. My machine sat in the cupboard for 4 months because I was so frustrated with it. Your video helped me fix it in 10 minutes!!!
Having seen more than ten videos this one was the only useful. I was at the point to give up everything when finally I found your video and I was able to 'repair' my sawing machine within some minutes. Thank you very much!
Mr. Randy you have saved me!! I’m using a friend’s machine and I was so worried I wouldn’t be able to put the bobbin back together! Thank you so much!!!
When I put my shuttle back in place and with the shuttle race in place and the leavers in place, it is so loose! It falls apart. If I can get it to stay when I try to sew I get horrible thread bunching and then the assembly just falls apart. Whats wrong?
You are a life saver!! I have an old Dial and Sew cabinet sewing machine and I’ve never had the housing fall out before so when it did I had no idea how to put it back in until I watched your video.
Being a "sometime sewer" you gave me the confidence to open up my bobbin assembly. Thank You! Like a million other people I'm trying to sew face masks.
Thank you, Randy. I have not sewn with a sewing machine since 8th grade Home Ec. - Lets just say the 70's sound good right about now. I truly appreciate this tutorial, you are a lifesaver!
Thank YOU so-much Sir. I’ve spent the last hour trying to figure this out on a Bernette 705. Thanks to you, my new thrift store find now works just fine!!! The ‘Sew must go on’!
Thank you. I was really stuck in a bind this morning when I noticed my bobbin casing fell apart even after use last night. This saved me today. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Randy, Thanks so much for being here for us..I can't believe how much time I spent trying to puzzle together replacing my Domestic sewing machine bobbin which locked up then fell out. Only two parts but I could not put it back together! Now, I will work on tension problems, I hope that is as easy as you made this tutorial. Easy to follow calm and correct...
Oh my word! The needle got stuck down in the bobbin mechanism thing. I had to take the machine apart to get it unstuck and then I couldn't remember how to get it back together. I found your video on RU-vid and what a blessing that was. In no time at the bobbin mechanism holder thingy was all put back together and working just. Thank you thank you thank for your video. God bless you!
This video was soooo helpful. I was making cushions after not using the machine for at least 10 years, the shuttle fell out and your video was so clear, I was able to fix it myself. Thank you so much!!!
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 Thankyou so much!!! I’m literally SWEATING over here because I’ve broken three needles trying to do this on my own!!! Your tutorial saved my sanity!!!!! I love you!!!!
November 6th 2023 Thank you so much for these instructions . I had been struggling for ages to get it back together. Fantastic, thousand times thank you. X
Thank you thank you. You are a star. When it fell apart I was aghast but I remembered watching videos when I purchased my Janome 423s. I will always turn to you in trouble.xxx
What a lifesaver!!! Took it apart and couldn’t get the darn thing back together. I suspect that it wasn’t put together correctly in the first place, hence many issues! Best video!! Thank YOU!
Thank you very much for posting this! Before I saw this video, I couldn't figure out how to put the thingamajiggy back together, after taking it apart, to remove a piece of thread stuck in the machine. You are a lifesaver!
Another year later and I couldn't find this video because I was searching for " BOBBIN ASSEMBLY." A lot of us don't know what things are really called. Lol ❤ Thank you very much. Found another video called "Help my sewing machine hook fell out" by Sews-A-lot , RU-vid channel. Appreciate you both so much !❤
I decided to unbox my new sewing machine (new to sewing too!) and inadvertly lowered the arms not knowing how to remove the bobbin holder. I searched and found your video, which is a life saver! Thank you for your generosity in sharing this precious troubleshooting.
Wow, I'm so happy that if you were around I'd give you the biggest hug!! I have been trying for hours to get this thing assembled! The instruction booklet doesn't even come close to showing this! Thank you!
Thank you so much for posting this, I simply couldn’t get my Janome back together after a thread blow out. These instructions helped me in a matter of seconds 🙌
Thank you. Just needed the confidence of seeing a reminder, and then copied your actions. It’s always a bit tricky for me, but thanks to your help, it’s all back together now!
You are a life saver. I've been fiddling for hours trying to get the casing back and have tried all sorts of conglomerations - apart from the correct one. Can't wait to try it and get the machine sewing again. Thank you.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I was sewing a shirt for my sister when my needle got jammed and I freaked out because I didn't know how to fix it so I took it apart and got the needle out but couldn't figure out how to fix it. YOU MADE MY DAY, THANK YOU!!!
Thank you from the very bottom of my heart. I’m new to sewing. Yeah, my machine “locked up” like the hands of God were holding that bad boy together. Then it fell apart once I got the string out and I couldn’t figure out how to get all the lovely metal guts back together. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. Thanks again.
Brilliant, I bought a machine off ebay, after discovering I'd bought a machine without a presser foot.. Feeling cheese off, I thought I'd give it a defluff etc.. And yeh you guessed it.. Fiddled about for 2hrs ++ with the casing then found your vid, thanks a million you made that so easy 👍👍👍
Thank you so much. You saved the day. I had no idea how to put it back when it all fell out and with your step by step instruction is was easy. So grateful for your help.
Thank you, thank you so much. I'm all set to make some cloth face masks. Nearly finished one when I did whatever I did and the bobbin casing fell out. Your video was so clear, concise and comprehensive and no doubt, I'll have to use it again. If you celebrate Easter, enjoy even in these trying times. If not, enjoy the weekend.
Thank you!! Knotted thread, I instinctively took it apart and couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to reassemble the bobbin casing! I had my machine running by the time the video was finished. No superfluous chat, just the info I needed. Thanks again, Carole
I totally agree. I have my mums old prelude singer machine and it has taken me years to face up to putting it back together and you have been incredibly helpful. Thank you from the bottom of my ❤
Much gratitude to you sir. I have a Euro-Pro X sewing machine that was given to me as a wedding gift 16 years ago. There are occasions when glitches occur, and I simply need a straight-forward tutorial, instead of getting overly frustrated trying to problem solve on my own. THANK YOU for being concise, having a focused camera, and not obstructing anything.
Absoulute life saver! I accidentally took this apart when trying to undo the thread I'd bundled up at the bottom and I was clueless on how to fix it! Great video! 🙂
Omg your a life saver I was having the worst time trying to put it back together after cleaning my mom's old Kenmore 158.19461. We have no manual and it's been hard trying to find info on the machine and how it works and how to clean. Thank you for sharing this! ❤️
I don't know how many times in my 60+yrs. of sewing I have taken this bobbin assembly out and every time I must think and think about how to get it all back together. Now I have your video and my manual, you explain so much better than the manual does. Thank you, thank you.
You’re welcome. That’s why I made the video. Many of my customers would call me and I would take them through the reassemble process as I drove to a service call. Now, they can just look it up and everything is good. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎
Thanks you soooo much for this helpful video! I've owned a sewing machine for literally 33 years and today was the first time I had to put this part back together. You are a lifesaver :)
Ah, man, you are the hero! Was doing a bit on mending on mom's old Dressmaker and it''s guts fell out on the floor. I about panicked. You saved me a trip and some bucks. Thanks!
Thank you so much for the video. I’m new to sewing and I couldn’t explain to anyone what was happening or what the parts were. You explained it and I fixed it.
You are a wonderful human being!! I got some thread stuck in my bobbin assembly and when I went to disassemble it, the whole thing fell apart before I could see how it went together in the first place. The manual was absolutely no help at all. Thank you again!
