Lot of you might be surprised or maybe not to see what I looked like when I was a Teenager. Back then it was all about that Spiky hair, black eyes and colorful outfits. I am sure most of you probably know what I am taking about. Those Myspace and Hi5 days. Having cool playlist and jazzing up your profiles with all sorts of designs. Now I feel so basic looking at my old photos haha. Kinda miss it a little.

HA! I remember when this look was popular. I used to tease my hair ridiculously and wear bows. Major raccoon eyes, even heavier than yours, with big false eyelashes. Skin was super pale, wore a lot of blush, and a lot of bright colored clothes. I looked like a mess but those were some of the best times of my life lol

The difference between emo and scene is the music and the overall style. The basics are the same but instead or dark, scene is more colorful and dramatic. Popular accessories and clothing items were huge bows, double layered belts, diamond necklace, lace net gloves, ripped stockings, colorful graphic tees, tutus, converse, Vans, ripped skinny jeans near the knees, band merch etc. They often had piercings such as septum, spider bites etc. Music that is often associated with scene is Blood On The Dance Floor. I'm just going by what I remember, I hoped this helped 😀

I remember the scene/emo times. I looked horrible back then because I used to line my eyes with a black pencil which would get all smudged throughout the day. I only found out about eyeliners like 3 years after.

Also funny story back then my parents were really strict and didn't want me dressing in so much black and having raccoon eyes, cuz tbh I had no idea how to do my make up back then and this one time they caught me and my best friend at the time dressing up and doing each others make up, painting our nails black, you know, regular scene things and it was the most embarrassing conversation I've ever had with them to this day, even worse then the birds and the bees talk. Oh and my youtube photo hasn't been changed ever since my scene phase so enjoy my cat whiskers and awkward fringe hahaha xD

I can totally relate with this except for the nose ring. I remember the first time I plucked my eyebrows I used a cuticle nipper coz I don't have a tweezers back then😬 and I used hydrogen peroxide to turn my black hair into blonde🤣🤣🤣🤣

I had a scene phase and since I wasn't allowed to dye my hair or wear makeup I just had long hair with those weird bangs that covered an eye and a lot of stripes and neon clothing. I dress like a trad goth these days, and it's a lot less cringy and a lot more fun. I get real creative with ripping clothing and pins and patches.

Not knocking you, but I never like how when beauty gurus try to recreate "how I looked growing up" but have all these fancy techniques. Maybe you did have all that stuff back then, but all I had was a oily black eye liner, $1 black eye shadow from LA colours, an angled paintbrush I used for my eye make up, and $1 mascara. It looked horrible, but it's more fun to do it like that instead of how glam it looks if you did it how you'd do it now.
