@@sunnygirl87 me either they are so talented. Natalie was just speaking her mind and shunned because of it. Good to know there are other die hard fans out there !
@@victormorgan9158 they destroyed their own careers by not understanding who their fan base was. Also, back then, if you wanted to go head to head with Toby Keith, you had better have known that there would be consequences. They had the right to speak out, but free speech does not equal free from consequences. The market spoke in this case.
"the land of the free.. the home of the brave" it's funny how everybody can sing, but don't agree with that. Why people have to be brave enough to try to use their freedom? Dixie Chicks rule! PS: I'm italian, we have the same problems here
That last harmony was brilliant, I prefer this rehearsal to the real one, they just seem more relaxed and not so glamed up. I wonder what they wood be loke singing "Flower of Scotland"
So are you saying that the Grammy voters are in the millions? It should be clear to all that it wasn't the panel of Grammy voters who bought millions of copies of their 2006 cd (which was coming up on 4 years since the "incident" by the way). It was the millions of people who like The Dixie Chicks. And what's it to you, anyway? And what are you going to say IF (notice I don't say WHEN...unlike you, I don't pretend to have a crystal ball) their next cd sells millions again? Can you answer that?
Who's gone? You can't mean the Dixie Chicks, right? If you DO mean them, then did you also say that in 2003, because I heard people say it then and they were obviously wrong. I mean their last studio album in 2006, 3 years AFTER that Bush comment, was number 1 for weeks, and earned them 5 Grammy awards in 2007 (album of the year and song of the year among them). They haven't put out a cd since then, but I'm sure they will soon. So who are you saying is gone? It CAN'T be the Dixie Chicks, right?
But for someone who can't stand them, you sure spend a lot of time following their careers. There are artists I can't stand (Kanye West, Toby Keith) and I couldn't tell you anything they're doing except that I know they do relatively well in their careers. I just don't care beyond that. I think it's very telling that you care so much. Anyway, this is my last response to you, so if you want to get in the last word...be my guest. You seem like the type of person who needs that.
The Chicks are great. Everyone can see it. Do we still have to talk about politics or about G.W. Bush? Now Obama's president. And almost every single star in music business supported Obama to be elected. Not only the chicks wanted the change...
this is sort of a rough performance for them, there were definitely some bad notes...there are other videos of them performing the same verison of this and the harmony is rock solid.
Also, I'm re-reading your message. Virtually everything you're saying is wrong. It doesn't even make sense. I mean, look....I can't STAND Kanye West...never could. And I have reasons for that. But I can't deny that the loser sells records and that people like him (or did up until recently). The fact that people like him is sad, but it's true. What you're trying to say about the Dixie Chicks isn't true, so why not stick to the facts? I really just don't get who or what you're carrying on about.
