They were sexually abused by their parents and suffered their whole life! They always experienced prison, since they've been old enough to think. Their whole life has been a prison. They should finally have a chance to experience life the way it should be. Yes, what they did was wrong but they served their time and they are the real victims. It's time that people see this case for the real thing that it is.

@@Lea-py1df Though murder is detestable, there's a number of factors here that make you realise it wasn't about greed or to get more money (that's actually a joke of a prosecution hypothesis) but was about escaping trauma. The case should have been declared manslaughter with imperfect self-defense, so 22 years. I don't think there's one single case of people this young killing their parents for greed or money, because people that age just don't do that. They do it to get away from severe trauma, and possibly save their lives. There's no way Erik would've confessed to a therapist either if he was a cold-blooded murderer - that never happens.

They should have been released years ago. Gypsy Rose can be released why can’t they. I do believe they will be released by the end of this year or early next year. Once they are released they will be bombard by everyone to give interview. I pray they get out!

Poor analogy and argument. You’re comparing one narcissist psychopath to another. Rose should be in jail as well. Though nothing condones child abuse, neither does murder as the answer to that. Rose was willfully complicit in her mother’s charade for years and is a pathological liar. She, like the brothers, were grown adults more than capable of choosing anything else other than murder to remedy their situation but chose not to. It’s stunning and a revealing picture of how decrepit people have become as more and more seem to have no moral compass left to discern the obvious wrongness of criminals and actually defend them at all costs.

If OJ can get released and Gypsy can get released then the Menendez deserve to get released and at the end of the day the new evidence doesn't get thoroughly looked at and they spend another year in prison then that will be so sad

While I do agree that its unfair, I have to say that in Gypsy Rose's case, she made a deal with the DA, and she didn't actually commit the deed; it was her boyfriend who people argue that she manipulated to kill her mother and she served most of her time I believe that she was supposed to serve 10 years, but she only did 9 years. While I am not happy that she is out and they are still locked up. Sadly, both of these cases happened in different periods and circumstances. While abuse does play a part in both of the cases, both she and the two brothers were legal adults; the main difference is that Gypsy made a deal with the DA and didn't do the deed, and the brothers went to trial, actually did kill their parents themselves and got convicted.

I do believe they were abused as kids, but they also murdered horribly their parents, they could have just leave, they were not kids anymore, they could have went to the police to accuse them of the abuse, but they didn't because they knew they were going to lose all the money if they did, having said that, I think 35 years of enough punishment.

The Menendez brothers are like Gypsy Rose in the sense that their father sexually abused them for years. Their mother knew about it and did nothing. The older brother left. The young brother started to face more abused by their father. The brothers killed their abusers. Simple.

I watched this case closely. I've continued over the years. I completely believe these boys were terrified of their father, and their mother knew what was happening to them and did nothing. They were scared and desperate. It is time to free them. Their father raped other boys and treated everyone around him horribly. He was a terrifying and abusive man.

Nope they were old enough to get apartments. They had cars they were old enough to drive away. They were old enough for work permits they were old enough to leave or move out. They were old enough to go to the police. There's so many children in this world actually being abused in their households ...they don't have a pass to murder their parents or preparator. There's no excuse for planning & carrying out the brutal murder of your parents. I say this as someone who has lived on my own & supported myself since the age of 16. I have many friends who have been taking care of themselves since 17/18 yrs old. Sob story didn't work here. Put those investigative dollars into something or someone else.

@@chachiimeeedo784 I disagree with her sentencing. I fully believe her sentencing should've been a bit longer. I don't agree with our society glamorizing criminals. I do believe fully due to the surgical torture she endured she is a victim & does deserve much therapy & help. She had no money no friends IRL only online no car. SO many of the things that the Mendez brothers had the ability to do to remove themselves from the abuse she did not have at her However NONE of these Perpetrators regardless of their reasoning shouldn't be financially profiting off of their M Vic's deaths.

@@kamikazekid94murder is not justified ever. They’re lives were not in danger or even imminent danger. They had no need to defend themselves in that way. As the OP stated, they could have and should have simply walked away and started a new life for themselves like many other normal people do even under the most dire circumstances. This lame idea that abuse as wrong as it is gives a person a free pass to commit heinous crimes is beyond stupid and immoral. It’s lazy and irresponsible as well. It’s stunning how incredibly stupid and immoral peoples minds have become when they now condemn one terrible act yet condone a far greater heinous act and still think they’re good and right. They could have made that choice to deal with their “abuse” and not murder their parents that brought them into this world, then they would still be free from a Prison life sentence and could have raised their own children. Premeditated Murder is not forgivable at all, and should not be allowed any pardon… they did the crime of murder, they should do the time.

I’m old enough to remember this case…and at the end of the day these are (2) brothers that committed a premeditated murder rather than move on with their ADULT lives (and it cannot be ignored that it would have cost them a significant inheritance🤦🏽‍♀️.) Many people are abused that do NOT commit murder…this is setting a horrible approach and precedent around abuse!!! If these were (2) black or brown men, people would have demanded that they get thrown UNDER the jail🤷🏽‍♀️….so many black and brown men are serving life sentences for FAR LESS egregious crimes. The brothers are fortunate that they did not get the death penalty. KEEP THEM LOCKED UP FOR LIFE!!!🙅🏽‍♀️
