Ok...I knew I recognized that face. That is the violin player from the Peterens. That young lady has brought a ton of joy to many, many people. I am happy to know she is working towards the balance and fulfillment in life she wants. Kudos to all these amazing and strong people.
Katie is actually around 33, as she was born in 1990. She’s the oldest Petersen child. We ALL struggle, and being a well known, public person, I admire her even more for being in this. People know quite well that she is a person of faith, but she still felt the need to do this and to be in it…which, in turn, might help others in their struggles. Bless her! 😌
I don't know the others, but yes, I also immediately recognized Katie. I found the Petersen family on-line during an intense battle with Covid three years ago. Their music and especially their story helped me get through it all. I appreciate so much their music, but even more so their family relationships and the bold witness of their faith.
Kudos Katie on your vulnerability & authenticity on your walk with God. Building our faith muscle requires challenges in the valleys of life, and I'm grateful for God's pruning in my valleys. You're an absolute blessing to the body of Christ ✝️🤠
Thanks to all those who contributed to this beautiful video. Katie Petersen’s insights at 1:33 are particularly graced. Katie has found, as so many of us have, that the clarity and intimacy of our young faith eventually fades. We’re then faced with our failures, doubts, and the ‘dark night of the soul’. This feels like a painful shaking of our foundations, but, in fact, we are being called to mature faith, a purer trusting, without the control or certainty our egos usually demand. God invites us to open ourselves to the mysteries of suffering and of paradox, to embrace communicating in silence, presence in absence, and knowing through not knowing. My experience has been that if we humbly persist, especially in the service dimension of Christian practice, those we serve teach us that God is infinitely more than any of our feelings, or projections, or theologies can encompass, that God is All-Vulnerable as well as All-Mighty, and that the faith that cannot be shaken is founded on God’s knowing of us, not on the reverse. What matters is not our inner fogginess, but whether others are experiencing us as a channel for God’s love.
I have deep respect for all the selfless contributors to this moving video. In particular to Katie, who has a public life, I take inspiration from her strength, courage and conviction of faith. I know that these shared realizations and call to Christ will resound with others. I know that it has for me. This made my day and thank you.
I´ve realized that worship, praising Jesus is essential every single day. God bless you all. And we all, which Nation w´re from are one in Christ. My Name ist Werner
Katie is very very young. Your faith impresses me and your service to others is an example to follow. Will November be a very important month for you Katie? Thank you for being a testimony of Christ Blessings!
Wow. That came when I needed it. Shame I’m so far away. Thank you for your openness. I struggle even to get out of bed so much these days….Thanks again. X
Amen, brothers and sisters. "Seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened, ask and it shall be given, and the love comes a trickling down." (Learned that song at Camp Adventure when I was about 10 years old.)
@KatiePetersen Just want to add my thanks for your being brave and not letting your public persona get in the way of speaking the truth about your life and struggles as a daughter of the King.
MUST BE BORN AGAIN. The Scriptures tell us we must be born again to be regenerated. We must REPENT of our sins and BELIEVE in Jesus' substitute payment for those sins, to be BORN AGAIN. Our feelings, our reasonings, our commitments, our asking, our inviting, even our loving, do not obtain regeneration. It is our repentance and faith, which God requires, according to the Scriptures.
Being Born again is the word Regeneration. It's one in the same. Repentance is in the greek "metanoia" or a change of mind. In this case, it's a change of mind from a life of sin and self to surrendering to Jesus and trusting in his finished work. Nothing obtains regeneration... John 3:16 and Romans 10:9-10 are instructive to us. John 5:24 also... believe and trust in him.... What are the works of God? According to John 6 it is to believe in Jesus. Grace and Peace to all! Merry Christmas.
Romans 8 7. The carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. .. John 3:6,7 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit.” “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” . Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Our testimony is important. Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives even in the face of death.
Omg! Katie is 31?! I thought she was maybe twenty five. Still too young for me tho;). Always nice to see young people doing good deeds and setting a good example for others. Carry on.
I remember once hearing this. It’s very important! God is love, but love is not God If love becomes God it becomes an idol And it never ceases to be an idol Until it ceases to be a god
@loisgustafson1558 I think accepting His love brings about a transformation of one's life. My hope is, that in the pursuit of Truth and in response to His desire that we all be one, His followers will all come back to the Catholic Church and be Holy. Christ gave us the Catholic Church and the sacraments. The pride of men has caused divergence and sad division we now see in Christianity.
Being born again is an act of God, not of man, lest any man should boast. We become a new creature in Christ Jesus when God the Father applies God the Son's payment to our account. God has chosen to regenerate every man who repents and believes (not who surrenders, trusts or changes his mind), when that man does so in the way God has specified. That way is specified within the Holy Scriptures, which Scriptures God has already provided in our own language. We must not hide behind our own choice of "original" language words, when we struggle to understand. We don't have the original, so the choice of which copies of Greek or Hebrew words might have been the original ones, is subjective. Do we choose for reference for instance, the Byzantine Family of Greek copies or the Alexandrian Family of Greek copies, in the case of the New Testament? And then do we choose our favorite lexicon to help us translate from each chosen word to English. No, we should by faith, take the English words God has provided to us (through collective agreement among the world-renowned experts), not generate our own individual English words (become translators ourselves), to accommodate our own personal bias.
Anything that we put before God is an addiction or if you prefer an idol. She along with anyone else who suffers for that is welcome to step their way from that. I have found a to true faith through the twelve steps. If people who already have faith need the steps to find their way back to faith, I’m all for it. God’s speed!!! Looking forward to spending eternity with y’all!!
